ogunsj:
point of correction, the CJN has not resigned, he is still under suspension as far as federal government is concerned. his resignation letter was rejected by the presidency because he has already gone to court.

Irrelevant! There's absolutely NOTHING in the Constitution that requires presidential approval of the CJN's resignation.

Perhaps his resignation is a constitutional lacuna that will ultimately be tested/resolved by the courts, but meanwhile Nigerians (including many folks in the executive branch) need to disabuse themselves of the misguided notion that the CJN is somehow subservient to the Presidency (or the judiciary to the executive branch). The constitutional reality is that the CJN is the head of a CO-EQUAL (and that equality can never be over-emphasized) arm of ONE federal government (and thus, you should not be saying things like "as far as the federal government is concerned" as if the federal government is a different entity). If he notifies the Presidency of his resignation, it is mere courtesy.

I blame Onnoghen for all he is going through. Hw can the head of judiciary be this careless.
He knew that he didn't declare all his asset and he comfortable sat down as if he control the cabal.
In as much as i don't condone corruption i knw that all those prosecuting him are all corrupt.
The first time of having a south- south person he went there and think upside down.

Don’t you get it! From long time imo river Onnoghen has been a corrupt Judge and old habits die hard!!
