the above quote is talking about The Law of Reversed Effort.
If you try too hard to achieve a goal, the excessive striving creates an inner tension thats shuts off the inner channels of communicaton between you and God and failure usually results.
In the seeking of God there should be no hurry or tension about it. You strike a subtle balance between activity and rest. In the activity period you put in your best and in the rest period you relax and surrender the outcome to God. This is the key to success

Eckankar is the Religion of the Light and Sound of God. ECKANKAR comprises of 2 words joined together. ECK which means Holy Spirit and ANKAR which means The way. so put together it means The way of the Holy Spirit. the Emphasis in Eckankar is knowingness and beingness. we do not work with beliefs.

for you to really appreciate truth you have to experience it. once you experience it you do not need anyone to convince you to believe or not to believe. you become a knower and you become truth itself.
i can tell you what i know about satan and demons, what i know about the truth contained in the bible, what i know about the teachings and personality of Jesus Christ but it may never make sense to you because you may still be functioning at the level of believe.

in Eckankar we are spiritual scientists. using the spiritual exercises we are able to move into the spiritual realms and see things clearly for ourselves not just what someone told you or what was interpreted for you or what you understood from a book.in the spiritual realms you can also meet your spiritual master there and ask him directly any questions that is troubling you concerning the doctrine of your religion.

so in ECK we do not accept any truth we have not experienced and proven to ourselves. we become a law unto ourselves. that is why we simply tell people to do the spiritual exercise especially the singing of the HU, a love song to God. sing it and then ask God to reveal the truth about life to you. then watch your experience. maybe then we can discuss more coherently when your spiritual eyes has been opened by the Holy spirit.
