Why in Nigeria there is tribal, cultural and religious war and in South Africa there is no war.

Nigerian are killing each other like animals for useless reasons.

More than 60 mourners leaving a funeral in north-east Nigeria have been killed by the militant group Boko Haram, according to Nigerian officials and other sources in the area.

Ten years after the group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf, was murdered in police custody after a crackdown on his followers, Boko Haram’s factions are continuing to wage a bloody insurgency against the Nigerian security forces and civilians, defying government attempts to destroy the group.

In the latest attack, a number of men were walking back to their village after the funeral prayers for a relative when armed men turned up on motorcycles and opened fire, said the head of the Borno Hunters Association, Bunu Bukar. The village is to the north of Maiduguri, Borno’s state capital, in the area of Nganzai.

Check our counter parts countries like South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, there is no tribal, cultural and religious war.

OK....you made a point, but

1.Botswana and Namibia have very small populations spread out over a large portion of land...and have at least one dominant tribe

2.Even then, Namibia and South Africa have had tribal issues...eg Namibia 's Ovamboland has at one time fought for 'autonomy'.

3.South Africa...there is tribal tension. Infact, it very nearly deraliled the transisiton from Arphateid to multiparty democracy (Zulus vs other tribes) and was even slyly played up by the White arphateid government (Bantustan policies).

4.Anyway, Namibia and SA blacks had a common enemy....the white man. Fighting a common enemy tends to breed some form of unity. (If Nigeria's populaiton was one-quarter white, there won't be tribal tension as we know it....we would be focused on the whites. Especially if they were running the government)

I think he means INDIGENOUS inter-tribal crisis, not Xenophobia...which is in a class of its own...and is essentially 'Immigrants go home' kind of fighting.(similar to anti-immigrant violence one sees even in Europe or America on occasion)

Each countries have their own wars... expecting different countries to all to have the same wars and problems makes.no damn sense.

Furthermore, Europeans don't spit their venoms at other white Immigrants...they do so at blacks and arabs majorly...while SA Xenophobia is directed for the most part at AFRICANS.

I don't know about the two other countries you mentioned, but in the case of South Africa, Apartheid did a great job unifying people because we faced the same adversities. Over time, tribal differences became insignificant because we had a common enemy, so to speak.
However, certain ethnic groups do still feel they're "better than", but it's not an issue big enough to cause any tension. We usually just have a laugh about it because at the end of the day, really, nobody is perfect.

It starts with each one of you, individually.

Not true. Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Chinese etc have all had their own share, too. South Africans are NOT targeting foreigners more than they don't appreciate the criminal elements that some foreigners bring into the country. Surely you don't expect people to sit back & watch their country go to the dogs, especially because of outsiders. We don't operate that way. It may not be the right way to go about it, but majority of South Africans are patriotic.

True, but it doesn't change the fact that the majority of their xenophobia attacks are towards their Africans brothas.

In Darfur it was for one reason, in Congo for another, Sierra Leone was for something else and in Rwanda they butchered themselves.there has been problems in Africa since the beginning of time, and it ain't about to stop. NIGERIA is no better than any other place in Africa with its local issues.

Yeah, because they're criminals & some even attempt to undermine us in our own country. Most foreigners are rude in South Africa, making it very hard to like them.

Good response. I agree in South AFrica just after first election Zulus wanted to fight other tribes but Nelson Mandela calmed it down by appointing Mangusuthu Buthelezi to his cabinet.

I understand your concern, point of correction South Africans are not Xenophobic only to Africans but also to Asians. whites people in South Africa are not looking for employment, they create employment that is why they are not fighting them.

Of course the white create jobs because they own SA. thanks to apartheid they robbed the country blind for decades, appropriated all the major sources of income to themselves, and still own them till today.

As for thinking that SA is not xenophobic, look again what that South African above wrote about "black" foreigners.

This thing that SA economy is owned by the west is a wrong perception, the biggest employer in SA is govt, the biggest company is PIC owned by the state, the biggest SA companies most of the investors are black.

Comparing 2 countries on such basis would have you fail in life, time and time again.

SA doesn't have oil, SA was run by white people enslaving blacks until the early 90s, south Africa is slightly bigger than Nigeria in size while having only 50M habitants, while Nigeria has 200M.

Now think about the above in bold for a minute, and if you still don't understand why the two are completely different country, then it's a shame.

China has more that 1.4 billion people but they are not killing each other like animals. Therefore why Nigerains are 200 million and are killing each other like animals?

Whose fault you're 200M though? South Africans are sensible. We have one of the lowest birth rates on the continent & the world because it's simple, more people = more mouths to feed/requires more resources. The solution to your problems lies within your society.
