WHY AJEGUNLE ECONOMIC SUMMIT?

The economic summit is to create an enabling environment that is conducive for good governance, responsive private sector investment and sustainable growth of Ajegunle economy. The summit is aimed at increasing the economic development of Ajegunle significantly, exploiting the opportunities while addressing the present and future challenges to growth.

In this regard, the Summit is structured to bring together Chief Executives/top level operators from the private sector and very senior government officials of key development ministries, departments and agencies to discuss how best to develop the Ajegunle economy and monitor the implementation of government policies, programmes and projects; and their impacts on the economy with a view to evolving better ways and means.

The summit focuses on developing the short to medium term policy direction for the local government/council and state government in respect of Ajegunle while taking cognizance of the evolving national and global economy growth.

A. Advantages and future developments
- The summit shall help highlight the present challenges impeding the growth of the various sectors of the economy in Ajegunle and proffer solutions.
- The summit will facilitate the building of necessary structures, infrastructures and synergies required to fast-track the growth of Ajegunle economy.
- The summit shall provide a convergence for public and private sectors to mutually work together as stakeholders to jointly fashion workable roadmap and birth new approach to business.
- It will help create opportunities for small, medium and large entrepreneurs; and create functional interface for collaboration, partnership and patronage.
- The summit shall become a platform where new startup entrepreneurs are harvested into various industries, hence, expanding the growth of the industries.
- The summit shall continue to highlight, create and expand business opportunities in Ajegunle and make the city a destination of choice for direct and indirect investments.
- The platform shall set benchmarks for short, medium and long term economic growth. This shall be measured yearly.
- The summit shall pioneer the platform(s) that will profile all entrepreneurs, traders, employees, employers etc. And make Ajegunle a big commercial hub with effective data management for further planning.
- The city shall be moved from the sub-urban to a smart city with growing economy that is favourably predictable.
- The summit shall encourage the young population to embrace technology and increasingly adopt technology to drive the economy of Ajegunle
- The city shall become a self sufficient economy and be able to compete favourably in Lagos, Nigeria and in a global world.
- The summit shall ultimately help design, build and operate blueprint for various sectors of the economy; and continuously improving on them in line with best global practice.
- The summit shall facilitate Ajegunle Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ajegunle my beloved Ajegunle, I wish Sanwo-olu will do something real fast concerning the trucks loaded with containers on the road. Especially that Orege road from masalanchi, mechanic, church, kola, banana, oja, dustbin and Chidi, all these bus stops down to Mile 2 are terribly dangerous.

Abia and certain States in the Southeast are terribly behind in development, but don't ever think that Lagos state is comparatively or relatively far better... With what that one time capital of Nigeria generates monthly and yearly as revenue, we should be using it as a developmental standard for all other mega cities in Africa.
