Another area that needs attention is Futures Trading with special reference to FX Trading. The culture is still infantile in our society, wherea in a country like Japan with more than 425,000 FX Traders(65% of them are females and strong bastions of carry trade), the country witnesses an annual inflow of $7billion annually from retail FX Trading.

This is part of the reason we developed a vision to raise over 1 million thorough FX Traders in this country by 2015 and of these we expect that over 100,000 of these must be able to make an income of $10,000 yearly. We have as much, if not better intellectual depth than most countries that are earning fortunes by feasting on the weaklings.

I think this is an area we should also look at and seek out how we can make it a culture and a generational heritage as obtain in other climes!

Kingdom First.

Then Food

and then Power. No Power without Control. Let us control Food production, innovation, preservation, distribution and consumption and then we control Corruption wisely, gradually to the bearest minimum.
We also need to control Power generation, innovation, distribution and consumption and also control Power Corruption wisely, gradually to the bearest minimum.

CONTROL IS KEY.

What are u guys talking about?no body is giving attention to agriculture too bad.am not criticizing any of these wonderful business ideas but the opportunities in agriculture are 50times more than all the other ideas mention here.Massive agriculture development can take care of this country unemployment issue-people fail to recognize this.
it is high time we brace the opportunities in agriculture.

thatz thatz for agriculture.

Natural Gas alone account for over 600,000 jobs in Canada in 2009.Nigeria is the 7th largest Natural gas reserve in the world-and all the Natural gas reserve in Nigeria was discovered as a result of oil exploration if Natural gas is explored for-then Nigeria has the potentials of being among the first three. This sector alone can tripple the money oil has pump into the country in the next decades.

There are lot more places to look at.we all could keep going on and on but the problem with this country is not ideas but bad implementation.Nigeria is only Good on paper.

Future president,i know alot has to be put in place to put these sectors to maximum function but its possible!!!

Abeg, my fellow forumites, please are you guys taking the first post on this tread serious or are we just discussing generally. Why I say this is 'cos the poster is just a big blabber and understands nothing about venture capitalism, just read carefully the example he provided and judge for urself howcome a venture capitalist could reason so incoherently. If you ask me, the guy might have some cash and wants to steal ideas on what investment to go into.

INTRODUCTION: EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENT

BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Outsourcing is the key strategy in this Business where a client /company come to lease or hire your equipment/truck for a said agreed term and rate per day (8hrs) or payment per trip in term of trucking i.e. haulage of products.

Nigeria being a developing country requires massive infrastructural development in term of road, earth dam, parks, canal channelization and drain. Lagos and other state are trying to improve its capacity for service delivery to its populace, where new construction sites are springing up daily; these sites engage professional leasing company to execute the strategic plans in land preparation such as bush clearing, levelling, excavating, construction works and sand filling.

Earth moving equipments such as Bulldozer, Excavator, Pay-loader, Roller, Grader and Low-bed (carrier) are used daily at enormous cost associated with the industry for this project. Specialised company such as Julius Berger, PW, OGORMA and Hi-tech are fully engaged and overstretched interms of equipment capacity. They now also sublet contract to equipment vendor to execute on their behalf and pay upfront.

PRODUCTS /SERVICES

In this business your products and services you always sell is your integrity as a person and your equipment performance within the period of usage. The widely used brand is caterpillar because of its durability, strength and knowledgeable of the equipment by the technician.

A key parameter in this business is for your staff to be conscious of safety at all time and use the equipment for its original purpose.

Over the year private and public have engaged service of non professional to handle equipment rental without technical expert to run and maintain the business. But a technical person with fore-knowledge of the business and large data base of clients and agents can start with only one equipment and move the company to enviable position with proper accounting best management practice.

THE MARKET

The equipment leasing / rentals have annual turnover of over #4Billion in operational capacity either procurement/rentals. It’s a big market awaiting major player to step in and advantage of the incentives that come with the business. The only major players in the business are: TRI-STAR equipment rentals, Samchase equipment, PTS equipment, OGORMA and Badewa group. The market is so large that requires newcomers’ every day. A key advantage is that all these companies cannot meet the needs of all the clients.

Good equipment will achieve result in no time while boosting the image of the company. Equipments such as Bulldozer, Excavator and Pay-loader can either be indirect or direct lease to a company or place in daily rental of #75,000, #80,000 and #55,000 respectively with a projected forecast of 15/18days when starting business operation and maximum of 22/24days per month at peak period.

Our strength lies in our ability of having foreknowledge of the business, knowing the agents and cartel that control the business industry with prompt customer satisfaction, good maintenance plan in place, we will be the company sort after in our chosen field. The client engages the equipment for 8hrs/day for various contracts i.e. daily, weekly or monthly. This contract must be accompanied with a contract agreement duly signed by both parties and payment made upfront in cash or open cheque.

MARKET STRATEGY AND SALES

Market strategy adopted in this business of leasing/rental is commission base system where agents is been paid 5% commission on whatever contract signed; by doing this we will built a network of customer around us and break into the cartel that control the business with maximum patronage on booking.

Maintenance is also a key factor in equipment leasing; if your equipment has less downtime the client cartel will always recommend the equipment to other. Proper maintenance prolongs equipment life span (preventive/plan maintenance rather than breakdown); the equipment requires servicing after running 180-200 hrs of operational time.

The operator must daily greasy all moveable part of the equipment. It’s strictly recommended that after using the equipment for a period of 3year should be put on sale to cut down maintenance cost and downtime.

The staff professional conduct and safety precaution during operational hours go a long way in customer satisfaction and help to maintain good relationship.

DEVELOPMENT

The equipment leasing and hiring strives most during the dry season than the raining season. More emphasis on income generation will be harness during the dry season. Land preparation the advent of the business toward the quick achievement of desire result in construction industry and many companies invested their larger parts of their resources toward this.

The current road network situation in the country will be an added advantage to the business to pave the way of elevation to its peak success. To provide solution to this road problem, there is a need for large use of heavy weight equipments which will be an added advantage for whoever who is investing in the business now.

MANAGEMENT

The day to day running of the business lies in the hands of the manager who oversee/inspect the machine and its place of work (site) for safety reasons. The success of the business rest on manager and the operator of the machine, they are responsible for the equipment, inspect the site of work and recommend the right machine to be used. Manager must ensure that operator carry out the basic maintenance check on equipment and submit report on the weekly activity. There would be an office where the machine(s) will be parked when is idle and it will be easy access location to prospective clients. With the introduction of commissioning system put in place, one will be able to use as many agents to networking for the company. This in turn will make the equipment in particular to have maximum patronage (booking).

REDEFINNING OF PLAN

The investor has an opportunity to comment, contribute or adjust the above business planned by bringing his opinion. Negotiation on the operation or financial package is also welcome. A proper M.O.U with equity sharing of the business should be put in place.
