Lol This country sweet oh! We read that they were later released, does it mean that they were released without their bikes? We can't take this, I support the law suit, it's like stopping a luxurious bus carrying passengers from Osogbo (Port Harcourt or Onitsha), arresting them and seizing their loads. . Because Aboki use trailer? 44 Likes 4 Shares |

the Lagos state govt should just pay that N1B to jigawa govt and send those 123 back to jigawa to continue their suffering because the jigawa state govt won't give them out of the money...useless people that's how they have been exporting insecurity to the south and they are bragging as if Lagos is their state and they think they can just come like some kidnappers and terrorists and think everything is alright 62 Likes 7 Shares |

I don't care if mallam nor get sense or nor know book, these people did not deserve to and should never have been treated like that. The cameras and all weren't necessary. It just appeared like they already assumed that they were probably extremists and decided to make a mockery of them. I blame the president in all of this. He's virtually non-existent and his reluctance to tackle the security issues is breading fear and suspicion in every quater. Waste of money. They travel in an unusual way, that is, locked themselves inside a Van. If it was an open van now, there is possibility of them not being arrest by the Police. Considering the current security situation in the country, their means of transportation is highly suspicious. The Police can argue that in court and the action was carried out in good faith and in accordance with their constitutional duties. On their motorcycle and other belongings not being released by the Police, the question is, do they present satisfactory proofs of ownership and the Police still hold on unto their motorcycles/belongings? I just pity them, they are carried away by supports from one political party and ethnic group not knowing that those people have history of giving bad lucks to person/course of action they give their support to. Good luck to them. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Nice development but if they weren't held in detention beyond the number of days the law stipulates then they have no case but if they were compensation is coming there way 2 Likes |

The Owners of Nigeria vs Lagos state government. I knew it will come to this! Some wealthy northerners are behind this legal suit. I saw the signs as soon as some northerners began threatening the SW on social media. How on earth is it a crime to interrogate suspected aliens coming into the state. These guys may be Malians or Chadians for God sake. Screenshots of comment on Premium Times. 12 Likes 1 Share

Good development. Why were they arrested in the first place? How many of my igbo brothers and yorubas traveling to North in luxury bus have been paraded like common criminals by the Northerners. The truth is that these people from the North prefer traveling in trucks and they see it as a way of life. The northerners own almost 75 percent of trucks on Nigerian roads. LASG and Nigerian police must sued for preventing these people from freedom of movement 2 Likes |

Beautiful. I just wish the lawyers follow this up full time. Let it be pro bono. The cut when it is successful will be worth the while. Politicians cannot go ahead and be doing whatever they want in the name of governance. |

Lagos state Govt has the right to arrest anyone deemed suspicious and they owe them no explanation, we all know the state Nigeria and Jigawa state is in with its porous borders. Fashola even deported some easterners and nobody did nada so they should take 123 seats. They should even be happy they werent deported It's just like USA police receiving tip off of suspicious activity from locals which was confirmed to be suspicious, the police trails, arrests and detains them, after extensive profiling, they find out they weren't incriminating and released them afterwards. Should they come out and sue the cops? Lagos should sue them for 123Billion for attempted mass murder of infants and attempted mass suicide Some people just like to make a big deal of everything 20 Likes 2 Shares |

Some useless ambulance chasers called lawyers now want to milk this incident and extort the Lagos State Govt, the police did the right thing, given the insecurity across the country, it's a cause for alarm having such large number of people probably without documentation coming into a State like refugees, and they were not detained more than 48hrs which is still within the ambit of the law, so what's their case? The lives and security of almost 20million Lagosians trumps 123 people abeg. 16 Likes 1 Share |

I think the police were right to detain and interrogate them. But the problem is Nigeria police love for media. This culture of parading people before cameras is illegal and unconstitutional 6 Likes |

Rubbish........They can never win the case Its also the duty of a state government to ensure security of lives and properties of her state. There is no reasonable state government that would open its eyes and see hundreds of Aboki migrate into the state without screening them and confirming their purpose of migration considering the current insecurity in the country. Boko Haram troops could also be moved into Lagos then if the state government has no right to detain them for investigation as to the mass migration 8 Likes |
