I missed Gen. Sani Abacha.

The one who killed Pa Rewane, Kudirat Abiola, Ken Saro-Wiwa, etc and tried to kill Ibru, Pa Abraham Adesanya etc?
Or the who did not steal our money but keeps sending cheques of his loot in Swiss banks from his grave?
Which of the two do you miss

The biggest economies in Africa, the relationship is symbiotic and it takes a matured temperament and leadership to handle this, not the usual childish rants and over the top action suggested by FFK and some irrational people.
You understand this very well.. People think it pays to go to war.. Can you just imagine what we stand to gain if we go to war.. People who are advocating for war can ask Yemen and Saudi Arabia if they sleep peacefully at night

Why does he keep meeting SA officials? What's the benefits with such rubbish leaders. Why are we even keeping diplomatic relationship with South Africans. Other Africans are cutting ties with them because of Xenophobia but Buhari could care less what they did to Nigerians.
which African country is cutting relations with South Africa? Morocco tried that after we backed West Sahara, guess what they still bought are weapons and other goods. Madagascar by cancelling the match, was trying to get attention of SA-which they believe is not recognising them. South Africa has strong relation with their neighbours,Seychelles and Mauritius, who's economies are reaping rewards of that relations (if you check properties prices and their stock market, you will see that they're quoted in South African Rand and sometimes Rupees too). They want a share of forever increase South African middle class' money through tourism. As for Zambia, they are already begging for SA to supply them with electricity and food prices are sky rocketing there as we speak. As for DRC they want us to increase our aid to them, through wrong chanels. SA can live with non neighbouring African states, but Africa can't live without SA tech, investment, aid, etc.

Will this same scenario still hold when you know your children are dubious and criminals? Common man, Nigerians are not the only foreigners in South Africa, why are they not attacking kenyans? Egyptians? Ghanaians?
Esseite:

Lets see it from another scenario, JUST IMAGINE if someone kills your children, tag them in generality as thieves and sends the last child back to you, would your best approach be to visit the killer to dialogue things out, despite employing some of his children and paying them to feed the killer that killed your children?..

When you empathize with people, you feel what they feel.

I'm against Buhari still using our own tax payers money to burn fuel to visit Ramaphosa

Our envoy went, their envoy came

To show commitment, their President should have visited

****see as Buhari sit for that last picture like person wey bed-wet!

I think I support your stance here, it would have made a strong statement had their President been the one that paid the visit.

[s]President Buhari has decided that the best way to solve this xenophobia crisis is to visit South Africa.

If supporters of Femi Fani Kayode believe that the visit is unnecessary, then they should gather money, buy nomination form of a political party for him to run for President in 2023. When he wins, he can then decide to send jets to bomb South Africa. Until then, chill and relax because Bubu is the President.[/s]

Were the somalias, tanzanians, Pakistanis, zambian, Mozambique, even other Nigerian ethnic groups attacked and repatriated just incase you want to go tribal drug dealers aswell?...

You need education and exposure.

This is a type of diplomatic dialogue Nigerians living in south Africa demanded for cos they strongly believe it's will go a long way.

Why not SA President visit Nigeria?
Buhari is former military officer. If anything, he should have the ego problem. But if he decides to take the initiative to visit SA than there must be a good reason for that.

Its same thing I think..

- People were killed
- means of living were destroyed
- people were repatriated
- we patronize SA companies
- they benefit from our patronage
- people were tagged thieves in generality

All these you listed are just one-sided as though we gain nothing from SA economy in terms trade and employment. By the way, Nigeria once sent Ghanaians packing for taking our jobs and taking advantage of ECOWSS to cross border in large numbers, which is actually the origin of Ghana-must-go bags.

When you empathize with people, you feel what they feel.

In as much as no one is asking for War or dispute, there are ways to stamp your feet as the president of a Nation whom have lost citizens. Of what purpose is this visit?

To beg ?
To seek dialogue ?
To pray for him ?
What really, given the fact you suffered major loss.

Your analogy is extremely incomparable and lack deplomatic disposition when it comes to countries with traditional bilateral ties.
Remember this isn't your local communal clash that you go extreme not minding the fact that there exist intermarriage between the communities involved.

But can any who supports this tell me exactly what this trip intends to achieve. I don't think it is the best that could have happened so soon after such a telling incident. Sometimes silence evokes more respect and caution power. There is really nothing we should be saying to them right now.

I mean what if violence breaks out next week, next month, next year.... won't this trip look exceptionally bad then.... and this country look exceptionally weak..
