Pls what are old igbo tribal names?
Names given to Igbo sons before Christianity eroded our culture. People took names after markets...eke, orie, afo and nkwo. Some after their native gods, some after what they achieved or passed through. Ever wondered why our parents or those born after 1940 or so bear English names. They got baptised and are forced to take biblical names. This continued until recently when some well educated priests started encouraging people to take up good Igbo names during baptism or confirmation.
Recently, western culture has taken from where religion stopped. Globalisation!!! Parents name kids Chelsea these days.
