This is the case they like to rush and conclude even in absenteesm of the accused while many Nigerians have been seeking for justice for many years now on their various cases with the court. How did they legally and holistically came to the conclusion that the money domiciled in his company account are all proceeds of scam or related case in the US?

Again, what if after the investigation in the US and it is found that the money he stole is actually the one in his company account and they want to repartrate it, would they be told that the FG has converted it to theirs? Imagine the embarrassment!

By the way, I condemn his action in its entirety sad sad

A Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of N280.5million “warehoused” in the bank accounts of Invictus Oil and Gas Limited and Invictus Investment Limited alleged to have been owned by Obinwanne Okeke “a strong leader of a cybercrime syndicate specialized in business email compromise.”

Justice Rilwan Aikawa made the order of final forfeiture on Thursday.

The order of the court was as a result of the submissions by the EFCC Legal officer Rotimi Oyedepo

Okeke, popularly known as Invictus, is standing trial in the United States of America over an alleged $11.5m cyber fraud.

The 31-year-old Nigerian, was in 2016 celebrated by Forbes as one of Africa’s most outstanding 30 entrepreneurs under the age of 30 and described by the magazine as “proof that there is hope for Africa.”

This man has not been found guilty in any court here in Nigeria or in the US and a EFCC and the court have forfeited his property.

I dknt think he was active anymore. His past only came calling. You can't do fraud and get away with it for life. Especially bug time fraud like his.

Your mumu never do ?. All the slavery & conversion to Christianity that colonial masters did to your ancestors is not enough ?. The little asset that will benefit, Nigerian government, you want it, to be repatriated to USA, due to your extra ordinary mumuism. I trust PMB won't return the money to USA.

Individual business owners were scammed. Colonialism has to do with countries oppressing another. Here individuals are involved. Don't blame an innocent American for the sins of her government in the past. I will not blame a Yoruba man on the street for the role awolowo played during the Civil War

Pls don't fight for US govt. That's their core area of specialisation. Most of the funds looted from foreign countries always end up being forfeited to them.

Because he got the money from crime in d first place, he only established doz company to clean wash his illegaly sourced money.

So he needs to keep up with crime to sustain d inflow

What crime did he commit in Nigeria? This will guy enter into a plea with Court in US to forfeit the money only to be discovered that the Nigerian government cannot account for the money. If we want Abacha loot returned, then it is only appropriate that this money be returned to the victims' countries.

This government has recovered more funds than any previous government. Yet they have borrowed more money also. What an irony. And nothing to show for all the recovered and borrowed money.
