BREAKING!!! Heavy Protests Set To Rock National Assembly Over Social Media Bill

Following a bill seeking to regulate social media which has passed second reading at the Senate, Nigerians will tomorrow stage heavy protest, 9news Nigeria has learnt.

In a statement made available to 9News Nigeria by the convener of the protest, 'Concerned Citizens Of Nigeria' said the protest will happen on 27th November and Thursday 28th November.

The group noted that the march is meant to oppose the proposed Hate Speech bill and the anti social media Bill.

The statement reads,

"There will be a protest at the National Assembly tomorrow being Wednesday 27th November and Thursday 28th November organised by concerned citizens of Nigeria."

"This march is meant to oppose the proposed Hate Speech bill and the anti social media bill, both of which stands as a threat to freedom of speech."

"Your voice counts if you can make it."

"You may also lend voice against the suppression of rights to freedom of speech by sharing this message so that others who can attend may see this."

"Nigerians speak now while it matters. We cannot stay silent."

9News Nigeria recalls that the bill entitled, ‘Protection from Internet Falsehood and Manipulation 2019’, passed second reading after Sani Musa, senator representing Niger east and its sponsor, moved a motion for a debate on the proposed law.

The proposed legislation was widely criticised following its introduction to the upper legislative chamber two weeks ago.

Let's see how it goes, those who still see themselves as Nigerians does nothing than lamenting and wailing, suffering/smiling and applauding the architects of their misery. Liston to almost all the radio stations in the county, you'd hear them systematically supporting every actions of the government not minding whether good or bad. Until you people are ready to call a spade a spade nothing Will change. When they came to cut off the head of an Innocent Jew, you kept silent because you ain't a Jew, they came for the jentai you kept silent because you ain't a jentai, they came for the Igbo, you kept silent because you ain't an Igbo, now they have come for you, who will speak for you?

Some many things seems wrong with the this government is so serious about this social bill. A government that refuse to obey court order and keeps people in cell to prove a bitter vengeance point, now clamouring to take away part of the freedom of his people. Na time sha and will soon be over.

Supported. It's another RUGA, AN ATTEMPT TO COMPLETELY DISARM THE OPPOSITION AND SILENCE THEM IN SERVITUDE FOR EVER.
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HATE SPEECH. IT'S ALTERNATIVE SPEECH, OPINION AND IDEAS. IT'S A THIRD-TERM CIRCUMSTANCE. COVER THEM UP WITH A QUAK LAW, ROUND THEM UP AND BURN THEM ALL LIKE THEY HAVE JUST DONE TO THE WOMAN IN KOGI STATE.
AMINA J MOHAMMED'S SPEECH ABOUT THE MEDIA BILL IS A DELIBERATE RUSE.
BUHARI, BURAITAI, LAWAN AND LAI MOHAMMED ARE SUSPECTS.

Why the protest? Nigerians are not supposed to protest. The bill will only make all of us become psychophants. Period!!! Click on the links on my signature to master how to make at least 200% on your investment on very cheap plots of land at Ibeju Lekki.

This is utter rubbish. The bill is meant to clean up social media (that is if it goes into effect in the first place). There are too many false stories littering cyberspace. It should also put Cyracius Eze-something out of a job.
