There is nothing in the entire report to suggest that the man in question is not the most senior director. I was even expecting the union to come up with the name of the most senior director and justify their claim with the date of appointment as a director but instead, they offered no explanation and backed it up with an empty threat of not guaranteeing industrial harmony.

He is a director. That he was initially a special assistant to the former chairman doesn’t mean he cannot be employed as a director.
