When you stop viewing things from the lens of tribalism, you will see clearly. He was appointed a director and subsequently appointed a coordinating director. When politicians are appointed to head MDAS, they come with their aides as special assistants. Some of these aides are later converted to career civil servant on various grade levels and allowed to grow in service to the peak of the agency. It is not a big deal.

If Aina’s appointment as a career staff of FIRS didn’t follow due process, the union should have protested and have the appointment reversed a long time ago. Do you even know the meaning of “temporary appointment” in civil service?

Where is the evidence that someone who until Monday was FIRS coordinating director of domestic taxes group is a temporary staff of the agency?

He was appointed a Co-ord Director in 15th of May 2017, two years after he was appointed a Special Advisor in August 2015. Fowler's name was sent to Senate same August 2015.
