Is it 42,000 Useful doctors or 42,000 untrained Doctors. Because I understand charge and bail also existing within our medical system. And people have lost their Wives, Mother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Brother, sister, a Friend, as a result of these quacks

Just read the topic, and stop derailing... You think this is funny.

No serious nation takes such situation lying low. To lose great scholars, physicians, and technocrats will be the final undoing of any developing nation... You should be worried, not pretending or making light of the situation.

The situation is actually worse than what NMA put up there... There is a serious catastrophe looming.

I have one experienced medical doctor friend here. He works in the warehouse. He is passing through difficult exams and certifications and he said he needs to pass them to be retrained, although it's shorter term than for a fresher. But it's really been tough for him. This is someone who was qualified to work before. Yes you may relocate but you have to pass through this hurdles to finally get the licence to be able to practice in first world countries. Its not as easy as people think.

Yet one silly former minister of health said not all doctors must practice their profession because his tailor studied medicine and is doing great making clothes. Yet another short, useless minister said we have more than enough doctors and so we are exporting!

In 2015, a few months to the presidential elections , buhari was in a town hall meeting organised by Tinubu. When asked about how to revamp our health sector, he said he would stop political office holders from seeking medical treatment abroad and upgrade our health institutions to an acceptable standard. The last time I checked, buhari is the most travelled president in Nigerian history for medical tourism. Awon werey

Whoever have the means to migrate from this country please let him take the bold step. This is so embarrassing; from lack of quality education, infrastructure, good standard of living, healthcare e.t.c what positive thing is this our country even known for?

License examination is required by all countries of the world. You can't practice in any country without due licensure and evaluation. A doctor migrating from the US to practice in Nigeria is required to write the Nigeria licensing exams. So, stop making a big deal out of his situation. The mistake he made was migrating before getting his license, he was not duly informed.
And please, there is no such thing as retraining of doctors. No doctor is retrained, anywhere in the world. Your speed is dependent on how smart you are, really smart doctors clear the licensing exams in 5 months, some even in a lesser time. It all depends on your drive, your friend could be having a problem with the exams, because it has been long he graduated and his knowledge isn't up to date. That is why it's better to leave when you're young, and not only when things are going bad for you.

For a country of 200 million?
Terrible.

This is what the president should be focused on.
There is so much work to be done in Nigeria.

I don't see why buhari would keep travelling at every opportunity.

He even attends climate change summits personally.

Comical and sad.

Since Buhari started pilotting the flight 1960 Nigeria, people became scared of the destination he is taking us to, people are leaving the country daily, soon babies in their mother's womb will hold on tight to something and won't want to come out, immediately they know they are coming to Nigeria under Buhari government.

Why would a doctor be trained in Nigeria with tax payers money and then leave for another country in search for greener pastures?
Federal govt shld control all these abnormalities. There should be a policy that we compel all our medical students to use the knowledge they have acquired in Nigerian institution for Nigerians. They shld be compelled to work for the country for at least 5 years before traveling out for greener pastures
