The best thing is for sanusi to play rough by ensuring that the Election matters at the supreme court judgement favours the PDP candidate.

While Sanusi was pushing the lies that $50 billion is missing, which he later reviewed to $20billion and $18billion, Sowore was pushing his own lies that GEJ was training snipers to kill opposition members including many other lies.
Now see where the govt they fought to entrench kept them.

You mean something like this. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is a cat with 9 lives. You will see that it will end in teas for Gandollar just as it did for Goatluck.

now see how Ganduje is tossing him upandan

He would have been remembered as one of the best heads in this country but he cut it short with his own doings

Ganduje, do to him as you seem fit, perhaps it will serve as a deterrent to other selfish leaders.
because he was criticising a man who understand what democracy throughly meant, because he was ignored does not mean he was smarter then ,now he wanted to try it with an intolerant government that is y he is getting it hot ,I still remain one of his fan ,Mr integrity is not saying anything maybe he is enjoying it.sanusi was among those that brought him to power through their constant attack to the opposition, Mr tyrant should not keep quiet.

Beyond being partisan, at least try to know the facts of a matter and try to make reasonable conclusions please.

On this matter, SLS did jump the gun with statements he could not substantiate, and in what can only be said to be an abomination for a central banker, had to keep changing his figures. He first said $49 billion was missing, then revised it to $12 billion and finally said it was $20 billion. So what do you mean he told no lies? Its not possible for all three statements to be the truth you know?

Be reasonable please.

I doubt you are aware that PWC was subsequently called in to do an audit together with CBN, NNPC and the Ministry of Finance. Of course s this is Nigeria, discrepancies were found here and there, but absolutely nothing near any of the wild figures your hero was bandying about. It is disgraceful for a governor of a central bank to be so careless with figures.

But okonjo confirmed that $10.8B was missing.

Even if that is true, it is a long way from $49 billion - and it remains abysmal that a Central Bank Governor will goof around with sensitive figures with such disproportion - it is quite clear that as with most of his actions, he was seeking sensation.

Sensationalism is not an attribute of any half decent central banker.

The only thing Ganduje is preoccupied with is to dethron Emir Sanusi. This is very unfortunate. The scornful desperation of Ganduje to undermine, rubbish and dethron the Emir is worth no admiration at all.
Ganduje should know he isn't God and won't be a Governor for ever. There is Karma, there is God!
Why not leave HRH, Emir Sanusi alone and channel his witch hunting energy into something productive for Kano State?

Karma is merciless. Mr Sanusi and Mr Saraki conspired among themselves and stole intercontinental bank from Erastus Akingbola. Both of them are eating it hot hot as served by Karma.

Those who bought the stolen goods (Accessbank strong men) are next.

Its time for Sunusi to bow out honourably than wait to be pushed out unceremoniously by this vindictive Ganduje.
It was a mistake for him to have accepted the Emirship in the first place, a position he was actually overqualified for; which with his brains and international connections (both local and international) could have doors to something more cerebral for him e.g. world bank or politics (even as at now he can still make a good presidential candidate).

Of course s this is Nigeria, discrepancies were found here and there, but absolutely nothing near any of the wild figures your hero was bandying about. It is disgraceful for a governor of a central bank to be so careless with figures.

Of all the statements around this Sanusi issue, i find the 'the amount kept changing' argument to be the most intellectually lazy and dishonest one. Essentially because it betrays a complete lack of understanding about the issues.

Sanusi never claimed $49bn was stolen. NEVER. Check anywhere. He wrote a memo to GEJ saying that based on the volume of crude oil sales in a specified period, a certain amount of money was meant to be remitted to the Federation account ($65.3bn). However, in that period only $15.2 bn was remitted, leaving a shortfall of $49bn which was not explained.
His memo to GEJ asked him to

- Require NNPC to provide evidence for disposal of all proceeds of crude sales diverted from the CBN and Federation Account;
- Investigate crude oil lifting and swap contracts, as well as the financial transactions of counter-parties for equity, fairness and transparency; and
- Authorise prosecution of suspects in money-laundering transactions, including but not limited to BDCs who are unable to account for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Take a look at the first article. He wanted GEJ to investigate the reason for the shortfall and compel NNPC to transparently explain why the money was not remitted.

Does that sound like an accusation of $49bn theft to you?

Guess what happened? President Goodluck Jonathan sat on the memo and did nothing, despite being personally clueless about the reasons for the shortfall himself.

Only after the memo leaked that the NNPC started the process of coming up with clarification and explanations for some of the shortfall. And every single time the NNPC came up with reasons, Sanusi did what any sane, educated person would do and subtract the amount that has been explained credibly from the total unremitted amount. So of course, the money that Sanusi considered 'unaccounted for' would change infrequently. That's common sense. In fact, the NNPC had to claim they spent billions on Kerosene subsidy that had been outlawed by GEJ years ago!

It took the NNPC WEEKS to account for much of that cash, to the extent that the FG was forced to pull together a PWC audit.

There was NEVER any carelessness with figures. Figures will always change everytime reconciliation effort is put in.

But guess how Nigerians - who should know better - reacted to Sanusi's robust challenge for transparency? They lazily fell into the 'figures are changing' narrative.

Additionally, see below

Mr. Sanusi said the NNPC’s claim that 80% of the unremitted funds came in form of subsidy on kerosene cannot stand since a presidential directive had long barred such subsidy. “NNPC must show where it got the authority to buy kerosene at N150 and sell at N40, and then inflict the burden of loss on the federation account,” he said.

Despite the fact that the CBN's memo exposed an ongoing Kerosene subsidy that should not have been in place, nobody was sanctioned by GEJ for this. Billions of dollars!

And despite the Sanusi memo leaking in September 2013, more than a year later, the NNPC were unable to fully account for $10bn even with the Finance ministry looking in

Despite data and documentation provided by the CBN governor, the government has denied losing money. At a meeting with the Senate Finance committee in December, Finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said a government inter-agency committee, which includes the NNPC and the CBN, had realized that “only” $10.8 billion was yet to be accounted for.

The traced sums were paid to other agencies of government like the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, the NNPC said.

The finance minister said the “reconciliation process” was ongoing and assured the outstanding $10.8 billion will be fully accounted for.

But more than a month later, the government has failed to account for the missing money. The Director General, Budget Office of the Federation, told the senate finance committee on Tuesday the delay was because the NNPC had failed to provide all needed documents.

Trust Nigerians. An ever cowardly, misguided lot. It's the person who blew the whistle that exposed discrepancies that is being attacked today.
