Elections held. Polling unit results were declared and issued to agents and police. At Ward collation, valid results from 388 polling units where Uzodinma got over 200k votes were not collated in the Ward results without any legal basis. So it is basically, votes in 388 valid Form EC8As were not included in preparing Form EC8Bs, which greatly affected the final result and placed him 4th. At the Tribunal, these original duplicate copies given to the party agents and the police were tendered and spoken to by persons who witnessed the unlawful exclusion.

The case at the Tribunal was simply for the Court to exercise its power to include votes from these 388 polling which were ignored at the point of collation without a legal basis, in the final result.

That is all the Supreme Court did. When you add the excluded votes, Uzodinma had over 300k votes. That makes him the winner.

The last time the Supreme Court gave a decision like this is in Omoboriowo v Ajasi and Nwobodo v Onoh in 1984. So I'm not surprised that it's sounding new.

As a lawyer, I don't speak to the politics behind decisions. I speak to the legal basis behind decisions. There was legal basis for this decision. But let the politics continue.

A more pertinent question to ask is why the votes from those areas were excluded in the fist instance.

Sometimes you dont know the true nature of man until they get to power.... That's the story of Ihedioha...just a little power, the guy turned himself to an emperor. Anyway power comes from God and only him can decide whom to give or take from.

Ihedioha was too busy witch-hunting Okorocha to properly handle his case at the Tribunal.

This was ihedioha’s miscalculation. He was attending to the wrong things and listening to the wrong people.

That is why its always good to follow cases from the scratch at the foundation level so as not to argue blindly with those conversant with it.according to inec, they excluded it because it was overvoting.according to the electoral act,you cannot cancel votes already declared at polling units.moreover, inec couldn't prove the overvoting

don't beat up yourself, everyone have his/her time, you see the people laughing here will wail later and the winners in politics now will gnash their teeth in pain. Those who were winners in pdp then are biting their finger nails now.

The main thing is governance and if that robot in aso rock continue in his incompetence, these actors will gnash their teeth in the future.that is life for you.

Thank you Barrister for the insight. Yours was the most explicit response on the subject void of the typical nairaland gibberish. I am a Cameroonian Nairalander but keenly follow Nigerian politics.

The Supreme Court didn't update results of the other candidates with respect to the 388 polling units. Was it Governor Hope's result alone that wasn't correlated from the 388 polling unit?.

Personally I think a unanimous verdict from the Supreme Court gives credit to the rulling. There is alot the common man isn't understanding. Legal explainations like yours will go a long way to sensitise. Nothwithstanding wailers will be wailers. It appears the get paid for it.
