I disagree with the second point, dust in the charging port does not affect the functionality of the battery.i only admit that it may likely affect the optimality.

Smartphones are able to know when they are fully charged and automatically disconnect from charging when full.

Unlike the yingyang devices that keep charging even when full grin

Thanks but some phones and chargers automatically stop charging or taking in more energy once fully 100%. But power bank will keep charging your battery until it destroys it, it has no limitation to stop charging a full battery. Avoid power bank by all means

Our Mobile Phones have become an Essential part of our everyday life.

Its Numerous advantages which includes easy communication, easy access to the internet and overall benefit to our well-being has made it a Necessary Asset to every human being walking the planet.

Therefore, it is quite reasonable since it needs a battery to function that it'll have some faults as pertaining the Life Span and Durability of the device.

But sometimes the issue of Poor Durability of batteries is caused by some of our

Ignorance to some certain things we should and shouldn't do.
Here's a list of SEVEN things You Should Stop Doing if you want Your Phone battery to last long!

1. Turn On Airplane Mode if You're in a Place with Bad Network.

Our Phones Network services Continues to seek for Signals even if we're in a place where there's bad Network. This single function of it drains the battery Percentage little by little without us knowing!

Always endeavour to turn On your Airplane Mode if You're in a Place with Bad Network.

2. Stop Putting Your phone in your jeans Pocket.

Putting your Phone in your pocket Is the easiest way to carry your phone about but sometimes dust and other little debris could get into your phones charging point and that could stop the battery from functioning properly.

While buying a Phone case, try to get one that could cover the charging point.

3. Turn off your data and clear Apps when you're not using them

It's as simple as it is stated!

Always turn off your Mobile Data and Clear apps When you're not using them. They drain your battery silently.

4. Switch Off your Phone once in a While

We make use of our Phones virtually everyday, giving it no time to rest. Once in a while it is good to Just Put it Off for like 15 minutes not when the battery Is low o. But just switching it off and allowing it to rest even with Full percentage.

At least thrice in a week.

5. Don't always keep Your Phone at 100 percent.
Keeping your phone at 100 percent all the time will make the battery weak and Exhausted.

Imagine as a human your Stomach is always filled with Food, there is no way you'll be able to function properly. Allow it to drain once in a while.

6. Don't Charge Your Phone Overnight.

This is very bad. The batter gets full and since you're sleeping it still continues charging.

This is one of the fastest way to drain the life of your battery

Don't charge your phone overnight.

7. Stop using your Phone while it's charging

Stop using your phone while its charging, You'll have all the time after charging it.

It reduces the life span and at the end kills the battery.

For Cheap useless phones I guess.. And there is nothing like over charging my friend. do your research before posting rubbish. This is how the charging circuit works.
* When your battery is fully charged, the circuit stops sending current to the battery and then routes the current straight to the phone usage. so when you battery is fully charged, the phone literally disconnects the battery and your phone starts using power from the charger directly thereby preserving the battery. so you can leave it plugged in for 50yrs and no current would be sent to your battery.

Number 2 error.. Dust and debris getting into your charging port damages your battery? dude are you ret@rded?? where on earth did you get these informations? even water on your charging port doesn't damage your battery, it causes your pins to rust which bridge you circuit which also doesn't damage your battery but your charging IC.

You don't expect someone using a Samsung Note 10 and Galaxy s10 to follow these rubbish you just wrote..

The most important battery killer of all, you don't know.
* Draining your battery below 10% before charging.
* Using a faulty charger
* if your battery is removable, cleaning your battery pins with an oxidizing agent.

Pls OP do research from intelligent persons before coming up with topics. I remember a ret@rd telling me car charger kills your battery.. in what universe does that even make sense saying it out loud.

the number 5 post is wrong.

Most modern phones use Lithium Polymer batteries which means the battery cannot overcharge. once it gets to 100%, no other charge goes into the battery..

So keeping your battery at 100% always will not degrade the battery life any much less than allowing it to get to any percentage and charge again..

LiPo batteries have what you call battery cycles and the battery cycles is like the health of the battery.. Let me explain..

Say a LiPo battery has 1000 cycles, what it means is that the battery can go from 100% - 0% one thousand times before that battery is seen as useless..

Although along the line of getting to 1000 cycles, if you are attentive enough, you may notice that the amount of hours you get with that same battery would reduce.

So anyhow you get to the 1000 cycles doesn't matter...

whether you allow your battery to run down from 100% to 0% before recharging which represents 1cycle

or you allow the phone to get from 100% to 80% before recharging which represents 0.2cycle

either way the maths will still be adding up until it reaches the 1000cycles. So if you look at it, not allowing your phone to go down much in charge actually is good for the battery because you will be doing parts of cycles like 0.2 0.25, 0.15 etc instead of full cycles...

after all those in Western world wey their electricity no dey blink, by now all their gadgets (including laptops) for don burn na

that said once in a while, it is advisable to fully discharge and recharge your battery so as to allow the battery re-calibrate itself

Nice one OP
Though I don't agree with some of the rules. Phones are now intelligent in that they cut off heavy current as soon as the battery is full. Also, most new phones have sleeping mode which invariably sleeps all apps when the device is not used for a long period. Charging while using a new generation Li-ion battery is no longer a problem.
The biggest challenge with battery now is heat. Anything that makes your phone hot will degrade your battery over time.
Best way to use your battery is prevent heat, and never let it die all the way to 0%. Optimally, keep it charged between 40% and 80%.
