Anything goes in today's media. That is why you have the right to beat the hell out of anyone using their smartphone to snap you or people around you anyhow, because you don't know which place you will find your pic on the internet. A judge delivered a judgement according to the law, his picture is now everywhere on the internet. Who told you that murder is a bailable offense?

After meeting him, I should do what? Castigate him for upholding the law. The law is an ass, that is an ass, that is an ass. Period.

In UK, the punishment for this crime won't be more than 7-8yrs in jail. Very strange.

That was a sharia judgement.

if it was a female southern judge, that wont have happened.

Does Nigeria even have facility to hang criminals.

Rubbish

A piece of good advice to convict maryam sanda: Lodge appeal against conviction at the Court of Appeal. At the sametime, and perhaps more importantly, make a passionate appeal to the president to exercise his powers of prerogative of mercy and commute the sentence to something like 1 or 2 months on account of her being a nursing mother. Just pure sentiments. She may also pray the president for outright pardon, which entitles her to immediate release.
Some people tag the court's decision "sharia judgement". Sharia makes a lot more sense to me in cases of conviction for the killing of a person: it's the family of the deceased who decide whether the convict should face the capital punishment or not. If forgiven by the family, the convict walks away. Alternatively, sharia allows the family to opt for monetary compensation and convict pays and goes free to live his life.
The sharia approach would be a better option for maryam sanda, if it were to be adopted because it's utterly senseless sending her to the gallows and leaving the innocent little child she had with her deceased husband without father and mother.
It actually makes no sense.
It wasn't a premeditated murder and therefore does not deserve a death sentence.

So she should get away with murder on account of being a woman and a nursing mother?

With Judges like you,who need criminals?

If it were a nursing father who killed his wife, would we seek the same pardon on his behalf? I think the law is clear on murder. Gender equality isn't good enough only when it suits women.
It is manslaughter and not murder.

A woman killed a human being in cold blood style and you're asking for mercy? If that woman is allowed to walk free will even be a danger to her own child. She deserves what's coming to her

Advice To every Woman Out there . Your husband is your husband because you choose to marry each-other , obey him like your lord ask You to .Never disobey him *so long as his conditions are right* .Give him all the respect he needs However there are limitations. Don’t get attached to him. Don’t loose your mind over him . If he want to get married to another Women and you can’t deal with it ,Pls leave . If he cheated and you can’t stay, leave . If he is an abusive husband run for your life and report him .What ever happens tell your Lord. He sees everything and never take the decisions in your hands .Only Allah knows the truth. However
A lot of women might say Why didn’t *she* ( Maryam ) think of the consequences before Doing what she did ? We must not forget there are consequences for every action we take either Good or Bad . The lesson every woman should learn here is that Yes you have the right to be jealous, however, there are numerous way of showing it .Noting good can come out from making decisions *out of* Anger Because Shaitan will definitely plan it for you . And *in* the end he will leave you with noting but regrets . Your Anger will be gone but the damage cannot be brought back. Only Allah knows where the truth lies however before taking any decisions *in* your hands . Remember the Consequence. May Allah (SWT) forgive our shortcomings and accept our sincere repentance.

You have followed that case bro. Just chill

She had disagreement with the husband and the husband left the house for tempers to cool. Upon return the wife stabbFriends. Friend have also reported that the woman had threatened to stab the husband several times before during misunderstandings

After committing the murder, she called in her family member to help clean up the mess and make it look like an accident. They never called the police. That's barbaric in every form. No remorse

Amin ya Allah. She should have just leave him but women can b easily brainwashed and can't think deep. This same man has his first wife that's more beautiful _ cool and more educated just that maeyam sanda is from a more wealthy family. The 1st wife was humiliated and divorced weeks bf he married maryam but when karma came Maryam couldn't accept same. Women should take note what ever u do to someone it must surely come ur way now d first wife is living cool what of them. I pray God forgive both of them and she should accept this verdict with good faith that could be her kaffar

The law does not work the way you have postulated. She was found guilty of murder. The prosecution proved it case beyond reasonable doubt. So it is okay for her to kill and be set free, just because she has two kids to be taken care of?The law does not work that way.

The essence of law is to ensure justice.
Thumbs up.
Her sentence may be commuted to a life imprisonment, if it is the will of God.

Actually, there is no witness to the murder and what she said prior during a misunderstanding
is not waterproof evidence. It is not today that unstable people threaten violence without following through
which is why the husband did not take her threat seriously.
I think she needs to change her lawyer.

A worse case happened with the lawyer who killed her husband but she got just 7 years because a murder
case cannot be proven despite the fact that she had stabbed her husband on previous occasions.
https://punchng.com/ibadan-husband-killer-bags-seven-years-for-manslaughter/

For a murder conviction to stick, the prosecutor has to prove that she planned it or knew beforehand that her action will inevitably
lead to the victim's death.
I see no evidence for either of the case and the judge might have issued a sentimental judgment.

See what adultery has caused.

Daughter was barely one year when the mallam's d1ck started itching him and sent this wife to 3 degree depression/madness.

No one won this case. The mallam is long gone, widow may be joining soon, daughter risks being an orphan.

Say no to adultery.

This could well be a case of self defence but judge must bend the law regardless since the late Mallam was related to a politician.

That's why I love white folks. Not happy in marriage= divorce followed by alimony. No sweat, all lives intact.
