SENATOR ABARIBE’S CALL ON PRESIDENT BUHARI TO RESIGN IS FOOLISH

The Presidency has described as foolish the call by Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign as Nigeria’s president.

Senior Special Assistant to the President Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in a statement further described the lawmaker as an arm chair critic, known for making stray comments.

According to him, a man who like Abaribe who unlocked the door to enable the escape of traitorous and treasonable suspects, should be the one to resign.

Shehu asked: “President Buhari to resign on what basis?

“Just because some characters think that President Buhari should resign, then they expect him to quit? That call does not represent the opinion of the country. This is the opinion of an arm chair critic, known for making stray comments.

“If a leader like President Buhari needs to resign, there are millions of other Nigerians who need to resign, including Senator Abaribe who unlocked the door to enable the escape of traitorous and treasonable suspects.

“He signed the bond for the court to release Nnamdi Kanu on bail, from which moment the suspect disappeared into the thin air. Senator Abaribe has failed repeated deadlines to return Kanu to the court for trial, yet he has the effrontery with which to accuse someone of failing to the bidding of the law.

This is a man who should have replaced the suspects he failed to produce in the correctional facility.

“Abaribe’s party raped the nation and left it collapsing in 2015 and President Buhari is fixing things up all the years he is in office.

“President Buhari is working hard to keep Nigeria and Nigerians out of the harm terrorists have unleashed in the entire Sahel and Sub-Saharan Africa with the support of Nigerians and our foreign friends; he is going to finish off these terrorists. He alone can do it.”

I think this is the most foolish response from a Presidential spokesman ever in the history of Nigeria, rather than address the element of Sen. Abaribe call for Buhari's resignation, he went ahead with calumny to blackmail the persona of Sen. Abaribe.

The primary responsibility of every responsible Govt is to protect the lives and properties of its citizen which Buhari has failed to do in all ramification. The spate of killings and attacks under Buhari is unprecedented. Sen. Abaribe's call is valid and it represents the opinion of all sensible Nigerians.

It is such a watery response coming from the presidential spokesman. And again, Abaribe's shortcomings wouldn't validate President Buhari's failures or incapacities if there are. It's quite appalling how Garba Shehu and Femi have left the real job of image management to stoop for the hatchet job of attacking perceived critics. What a shame.

1. I am wondering if this spokesperson is still sane to start heaping insults on the messenger instead of conveying a well-scripted message to his principal.

2. Was it Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe that led thugs in the name of Nigerian Army to invade Nnamdi Kanu's house all in the name of Operation Crocodile Smile?

3. When Gov. El-Rufai confessed that he was encouraging terrorist activities by paying them handsomely for killing innocent Nigerians, where was Garba Shehu and his ilk?

4. So, President Buhari is using 8 years to clean up the mess of PDP's 16-year rule by accumulating debts that even his 5th generation will find it difficult to pay back? Monies that are entering into personal pockets of the people in his cabinet who were part of the 16-year PDP rot?

5. It is laughable that while Boko Haram has been technically defeated, the man once known for his statement has been piping low knowing that his arsenal of lies are exhausted. He has resorted to enriching himself and his cronies.

6. Talking about the security challenges, even Senator Ahmed Lawal has agreed that Buhari has failed woefully in this area.

7. What kind of individuals do we have in this country who are hell bent on defending mediocrity because of their pockets and neglecting the future of this great country

8. Over to you, Mr. Garba Shehu!

Wow! He alone can do it? So after 2023, no need for presidential elections because only Buhari is fit? And if he dies tomorrow Aso Rock will be shut down? The way people lose their heads in the name of supporting and defending Buhari is just pathetically comical!

So this Garbage can is not surprised at his principal's surprise that BH and bandit herdsmen are still alive and well and even stronger?

Dunning Kruger Effect; "Wherein incompetent people do not only fail to realize their incompetence but consider themselves more competent than anyone else."
The wise man who said that fools are too stupid to understand the consequences of their blunders have everyone under this useless & irresponsible government in mind.

It's because no member of the families, aides, cronies of the top leaders in this evil & satanic government have been killed? Well, the regime have failed woefully in term of security hence as it have done before, the only option left for Buhari is to resign.

Why has Trump not resigned since all the numerous school shooting took place? Did Obama resign when one crazy man killed 500 in the USA in one night,

Did you campaign for Jonathan to resign with all the killings by Boko haram, bombing in Abuja, Police HQ attack in Abuja, bus park in same Abuja, 200 killed on the streets of Kano one afternoon. What is Buhari supposed to do that is a sure banker to end the insurgency immediately that he has not done?
What will his replacement do end ALL criminal activites in Nigeria at once? if another person takes over and a violent crime is committed will the new person too be asked to resign?

The presidency reaction is childish and doesn't obtain in a democracy.

President Buhari to resign on what basis?

On this you clown...

Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari has advised President Goodluck Jonathan to resign from office for his inability to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
“Jonathan should vacate and give way to competent hand to govern the country”, he said.

Speaking to newsmen in his residence in Daura town yesterday, General Buhari said the issue of security is a fundamental duty of any responsible government, but Jonathan failed to protect the lives and the properties of Nigerians since he assumed power.
“When the Niger Delta militants started their activities in the South-South, they were invited by the late President Umaru Yar’adua.
An aircraft was sent to them and their leaders met with the late President in Aso Rock and discussed issues. They were given money and a training scheme was introduced for their members. But when the Boko Haram emerged in the north members of the sect were killed,” General Buhari lamented.
“And when the police failed to address the insurgency, soldiers were invited and they captured the Boko Haram leader, Muhammad Yusuf alive and handed him over to police. But Yusuf was eventually killed, his in-law too was killed and their houses were demolished”, he said.
He said the murder of the Boko Haram leader however provoked his followers and that was what led the country to its present situation. He suggested that government should adopt a new approach that will end the insurgency without affecting the lives and properties of innocent people.
“In Bama and Baga towns, military personnel were reported to have been engaged in extortion and sometimes raping of women. And because a soldier was killed in Baga the whole town was sacked by military. This is not the best way military should have acted when they were sent to restore law and order in a town. How can a responsible government allow its people to be killed in this way,” he asked.
He warned that the police, SSS, army, navy and Air force should know how to conduct themselves and act professionally.
“The soldiers are not expected to go and sack a town because one of them is killed. They are expected to capture the culprits for prosecution. After all the soldiers are not meant to tackle internal crisis but when it is necessary they should act professionally.
“Whoever is sent to protect people should also protect their integrity. When the former England’s Prime Minister, Margret Thatcher decided to hold its political meeting in Brighton the security advised her to cancel the meeting because of the IRN rebellions, but she insisted and held the meeting. The hotel she was accommodated was bombed and some of her political associates were killed but soldiers did not condone the area and kill everybody there, rather they conducted themselves professionally,” Buhari said.
General Buhari, who condemned the imposition of state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, said state of emergency was not the best way to address insurgency in the three affected states and the country in general.
“Government cannot kill all the Boko Haram members. Government should rather arrest and prosecute the Boko Haram members. They should only be killed when they said clearly they wage war against their country like what happened during the civil war. And even during civil war we that fought in the war were given a copy of code of conduct book which guided us against killing innocent people”, he said
