The truth is those ”captured terrorists” might not be terrorists after all. They simply capture innocent people living in terrorized zones, train them with public funds and release them to a better life. They are training their northern brothers with public funds for free and they want you to believe they are simply rehabilitating terrorists. I mean, which army has time to capture terrorists in large numbers? Our useless chicken-livered khaki wearing nincompoops? The government is simply trying to better the lives of the ”disadvantaged” people in the north at the expense of their southern counterpart. The more you look, the less you see. 2 Likes |

If the Boko boys can be given amnesty and also be treated as Kings in a land that they have killed, maimed and destroyed its people. It definitely shows one thing or the other. Either the govt is d sponsor or the govt itself is crazy, that's the truth 1 Like |

The first time my eyes are reading very very intelligent, scholarly and apt comments on nairaland. Wow, it's like Nigerians lose their common senses of reasoning only to religious indoctrinations. When they are commenting under religious topics, you'll weep for them and sometimes, spit on them. 2 Likes |

Racoon:Boko Haram and Niger delta militants are not the same. Militants are mostly graduates who were demanding the development of the neglected region that lays the golden eggs on which the nation economy strives. On the other hands Boko boys are recalcitrant terrorists and barbaric criminals who specializes in killing and maiming innocent Nigerians. They are also thieves. They are very dirty specie who does not know anything about personal hygiene, and have contributed nothing to the development of this nation. They are illiterates who wants to rule professors. Why on earth should any reasonable fellow release this kind of pple when caught claiming they have repented. This is why the war appears not to end. They also appears to be the foot soldiers of the biharary regime. use your heeaaarrrddd ooh and be united. 3 Likes 1 Share |

lexy2014:Countries like Norway don't persecute criminals harshly because persecuting them doesn't change anything Norway has a very very low crime rate Buhari might be trying to reduce terrorism by being nice to them to prevent them from returning to their old life But Nigerians don't understand this |

The Army and other privileged liars keep claiming that they are not being enlisted into the military or any other para-military agencies so it is best to go directly to the root which is that they do not deserve to walk free after terrorizing and murdering innocent Nigerians, displacing others from their homes. At least the so-called operation safe corridor and deradicalisation is in the public domain and they cannot deny it. Awol1: 2 Likes |

danvon: First, you do not persecute a criminal, he is already guilty. Secondly, you cannot be directing resources to self-confessed criminals when the victims are dying in their large numbers without basic care. Who deserves the rehabilitation more? Innocent, displaced citizens including women and girls or hardened criminals who should be kept locked away for life? Even if the government intends to rehabilitate those that might have been brain-washed or lured into terrorist acts, they fact is that they have been exposed to evil; they come from communities and they are known! How do you justify their release without punishment when their victims have next to no hope and some are even dead? Where is the restitution and reconciliation that should be part of such a process? More importantly, such 'repentant' terrorist should remain isolated from the general society until the war is completely over. It is premature now because whatever lured them into such activities is still alive and active, they are already well trained in arms handling and the art of terror so the moment they face any resistance (eg. non-acceptance by the society which is normal) or hardship, they easily pick up arms and head back to the pits, better revived and energised; that is if they did not just form repentance to take a break from all the dust in the forest! There is no positive to such heartless 'rehabilitation' exercise by the Nigerian military and government. 4 Likes |
