Shebi na all of una they shout oya lock down, lock down see them flooding the trend to lament... It is barely a week of this lock down we are complaining, food item has increased, hustlers that depend on daily activities to get what to eat are at home, they have finished eating what they have stocked, if this thing continues, crime rate would increase, other countries are locking down for a purpose, and amidst the lock down, they are setting pallatives to carter for their citizens along side developing a vaccine for the cure of this disease.

Here in Nigeria the reverse is the case, what is the essence of public awareness when you know you will lock down the whole country totally? What would the citizens eat even if you stock your house with food stuff worth of 100k, in the next 3weeks you would have eaten it all, what will you use to restock again when all the prices has inflated and no side hustle to compliment Your meagre salary because the whole country has been locked down.

Most politicians are using this corona virus saga in Nigeria to loot and starve the poor masses. Total lock down is not the solution to this corona virus saga, public awareness and enlightenment would go a long way, more quarantine centers in every state would also go a long way, recruitment of medical personnel or man power to carry out tests frequently on its citizens should be put into consideration during this period.. If we could also bring other suggestions it would go a long way I am just trying to bring solutions to ensure we are still safe amidst the covid19 period.

Total lock down is not the solution..

More annoying was misinforming Rivers people. He announce a dusk to Dawn curfew from last night in some part of port Harcourt.Only for police to block all the roads on the said axis arresting and molesting people.Only for the commissioner of information to come out later in the day that it's a 24hrs curfew.WHO DOES THAT?

Without Mass Testing, the Coronavirus Pandemic Will Keep Spreading

Countries such as South Korea that test thousands of people per day have slowed the outbreak. Other nations must adopt Seoul’s model before it’s too late.

The key to South Korea’s success has been speed and an early push toward mass testing, rigorous contact tracing, and mandatory quarantine for anyone near a carrier of the virus.

The country, with a population of 51 million, tests more than 20,000 people a day at more than 600 testing sites nationwide, while integrating apps that not only track individuals if they have tested positive, but also warn them if they might have been exposed to a known case.

https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/03/23/coronavirus-pandemic-south-korea-italy-mass-testing-covid19-will-keep-spreading/

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones.

Thank you. It is so logical. As if Lockdown will chase the virus.

No provision of safety kits for the masses. No provision of safety gears for health workers. No provision of mass testing centres for identification of cases and treatment to keep removing infected ones to reduce spread.

Just Lockdown. That is the new one politicians have learnt.

Wike should release figures let us see. How many people has the State tested. How much has been released to tackle this virus.

If it is to open mouth and abuse Amaechi, his mouth will get sharp.

Excerpt from an article:

Even before the Ebola outbreak in Rivers State, the Amaechi administration had released the sum of N300 million to the State Ministry of Health to use in tackling the virus in case it eventually arrived the State. Apart from this, the Rivers State Government through the Ministry of Health planned ahead by approving a temporary quarantine site in Oduoha, Emohua Local Government Area of the State

the man is mean, he knows that mist of the people selling food stuff are non indigenes, whose hard work and industry exposes the laziness of his ikwerre pips, he initially declared a dusk to dawn curfew in mile 1 to agip, mgbouba and environs on radio yesterday only to upgrade it to 24hrs curfew on short notice.

his useless commissioner of information said it was a sacrifice, must the people always make sacrifices for the ruling parasites?

they be stocked their homes with free food , so are not bothered if others due of hunger, even pregnant women and sicked children should stay and die at home.

Wike that is mopping-up Rivers State treasury being his last term in office. To remain a power block in PDP, he requires money to maintain his political influence.

So Rivers State people should please not expect much.

This thing they call stocking food, it's never enough.

Assuming you buy N5k worth of food on Saturday last week, by yesterday, you may discover it's remaining N1k worth, and you need to restock.

Now, imagine it's 5 people consuming the food.

Nigerians don hear am.

WE NEED AFROCENTRIC RESPONSE TO COVID-19. STOP PUNISHING NIGERIANS!!

Dear Writers, can you help share this to get to the top before it is too late??

Is Self-Isolation the best for Nigeria and Africa at the moment? Let’s look at its end result.

When I listen to Young people that reasons like Seun Kuti, it builds my hope that one day, the narratives will change for good.

Sometimes it seems we write or speak more intelligently than our leaders, it is not so because what we know, they equally know? But this is us telling the raw truth they have refused to tell you and will never tell you because they benefit more from shroud politics and fraudulent leadership, which by all means makes them appear unintelligent. And you as a citizen have not helped matters because you appear to be uninformed as to what your rights are and how to demand for it.

“The People that created social distancing and self isolation against Covid-19 are the Europeans, because, that is what will work for them after putting one or two comprehensive analysis together.

The Chinese didn’t use social distancing and self isolation, they quarantined their people by force, because that is what will work for them at that moment.

But not only that, China were building and putting to use new hospitals every 6days, to help get ahead of the virus, because many Chinese didn't have access to healthcare and they understood what needed to be done which will work for them. Their response was completely Chinese and not African or European, they knew what China needed to move China fast out of the mess and that’s what they did.

So, when the Virus got to Europe and the Europeans looked at their society and came up with social distancing and self isolation because they understood that that approach is what will help Europeans. Europeans don't have communities that are without water, they don’t have communities without Hospitals, Europeans don't live in face-me-I-face-you-houses, some of the homeless they have, they put them in government reserved shelters. Social distancing and self isolation is completely European and Eurocentric response to Covid-19, it is not Chinese response, it is their own Response. Europe doesn't have slumps like where most people live in Aba, Lagos, Onitsha etc with gutters and shanties here and there. They don't have communities without free water and electricity. Thus, Self Isolation became easy.

But People buy water in Africa (Nigeria) to survive, some people don't even have money to buy water. Now the Europeans that asked their people to self isolate, have created different types of funds to put in the pockets of their citizens to sustain them during the Isolation period. But Nigerian medical professionals and politicians are shouting “Self Isolation and social distancing”, how many Nigerians can survive 2weeks without hustling, Without going to the streets to find daily bread?

Buy forcing Nigerians to self isolate without putting anything in their pockets, the government is only asking Nigerians to choose between death by Covid or death by hunger. How have they saved Nigerians by this? This is not a response peculiar to our society.

You don’t bring an European trained doctor to treat malaria in Nigeria, malaria will kill a lot of people under his watch because he have no such experiences. There’s no mosquito in Europe and so, there are no malaria cases for proper experience.

African leaders should be creative and stop the copycat. This is why we have remained slaves to the westerners. Depending on them for everything.

But African leaders all over the continent gives themselves the best in this world. They ride in the best cars, they wear the best cloths, they live in the best homes, access the best hospitals in the world, have the best security, send their children to the best schools in the world. They give themselves world class services with our Commonwealth.

So, who taught you that you don’t have a right to demand for the best services from them? Who put it in your brains that you don't deserve to ask them for world class services? Who put that in your brain? Is it your pastors, your parents, is it the dormant schools you went to? Guys, remove that shit from your brain. Until the people learn to stand up and demand what’s due for them, nothing will change.

This Social distancing and self isolation is not Afrocentric! Is not for Africans and will never work for Africans in this situation should it get out of hands. How are we going to sustain families during this Isolation if the situation gets too tough? This is the window period to think!! Don’t let it hit us before we plan for it.

America with the lowest level of poverty is giving each adult a thousand dollars, (N380,000) but you are comfortable Isolating without food.

Desperate situations requires desperate measures.”

If you like share this till it gets attention, if you don’t like, sit back and wait. Two months in your room, we will know how far.

You close border and refused to allow people bringing food into the state to enter, the greedy traders have skyrocketed the price of the remaining food items in the market, Wicked wike was now moving from church to market last Saturday and Sunday, yesterday he has place 24 hours curfew in parts of the state and task force and police harassing/flogging Rivers State citizens, you are closing markets, shops, and there's no provision.........
How would they survive yet no palliative from him despite all the money in the state.....
I don't know if it's like this in other states.
