Southern/Western/Eastern states need to be vigilant and protect their borders, they are sending these Northern youths in the back of lorries disguised as food produce to either spread COVID-19 into unaffected areas or spread terrorism.

Ndibunna:
- As Kano continues to experience a surge in the number of coronavirus cases and " strange deaths", many Nigerians cannot help but worry

- One of those who have raised the alarm is a former NHIS executive secretary, Prof Usman Yusuf, who believes the state governor is downplaying things

- According to Yusuf, Nigeria’s end has started in Kano if urgent steps are not taken.

Former executive secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof Usman Yusuf, has expressed worry over the rising cases of coronavirus in Kano and reports of hundreds of "strange deaths" recorded in the state.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Yusuf accused the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, of downplaying the situation in Kano.

"The governor is lying, that is what we are saying. People are dying, in just a space of two days, three professors have died and other eminent citizens of Kano," he said.

"We are in trouble in Nigeria because if Kano goes down, the whole of Nigeria goes with it, as well as Africa. Kano is already going down, hundreds are dying every day; hundreds are dying every day and there is no solution," the professor stated.

The ex-NHIS boss said Nigeria and Nigerians need to wake up to the reality that Kano will bring the whole of Africa down.

Yusuf said the northern state is in deep trouble as people are dying and cemeteries are filling up. He claimed that in every household there is somebody that is sick right now

The professor claims the deaths are related the ravaging COVID-19.

"Kano is in deep problem; you people should go and find out. Nigeria is in trouble; Kano is in trouble, if care is not taken, Kano will kill all of us. Nigeria and Nigerians need to wake up to the reality that Kano will bring the whole of Africa down," he added

Reacting to Yusuf's allegations, the Kano state commissioner for information, Mohammed Garba, accused him of playing politics with coronavirus.

He accused the former NHIS executive of trying to dent the image of the Kano governor and cause crisis in the state instead of offering a helping hand on how to solve the state's problem.

Comment so far shows Nigerians are actually scared and the fear is making them tell themselves lies which they hope would be true...
I keep seeing "I cast and bind, not our potion" lol

They are some state in Nigeria that can experience the massive death of COVID-19 and it would be contained, especially in the south Because They are educated and rational.

But if Italy/US Covid 19 version plays out in Kano, if indeed they is a new strain of COVID 19 in Kano... It's just matter of Time....
Kano would migrate in mass to South...

Those shouting close all state borders obviously have never traveled from Lagos to North in their life...

Lagos would definitely declare indepedence but by then it's already too late.. just like the shutingdown of airport and borders, it was done too late.

The only place that will go down if Kano goes down is d entire North.

Kano has nothing to benefit the South
Educationally Kano is nothing compare to South.
In terms of Market Southern markets like Alaba international, Onitsha Main Market, Ariara Main mkt Aba is bigger than all d markets in Kano.
In terms industry South has bigger and better industries than Kano.
South do not depend on kano to feed but only north depends on Kano to feed.

The man is right, Kano is a business state and a lot of people migrate from Kano to other state, so it's very possible for the virus to spread all over Nigeria especially with our security agents along the road that might collect bribe or simply look the other way for unverified travelers to pass because northerners control the security outfits in Nigeria.

Hear me me Mr Man, even igbos in Kano state will be safe. God already made a distinction between the Israelites and the Egyptians. Ndi Igbo , oga'ekwe nu, stop inter tribal marriage. Your blood and gene is unique. Anyways for igbos in Kano, don't panic, just find a way to get enough Uziza, Utazi , Uda, Aki ilu, lemon, ginger and garlic. Boil and drink, inhale the steam as well. Igbos are clean people. Stick to the rules of washing your hands and face, use your face mask and sanitizer. Remember to share foods and palliatives amongst yourself. If you need help, send videos and messages to us here in the East. We will help you. Yes, I meant igbos only. This Corona virus simply means 'face your tribe'!

I knew it will get to this.

The northerners will do everything to ensure the south suffer terribly for their own stupidity.

I think it is time for all southern states to be very watchful and ban food importation from the North. The abokkis I know are ready to poison food stuffs with the virus and send to the south so that we can suffer more deaths like them.

Seperatists in Yemen are already declaring independence using the Covid-19 as a cover, maybe it's about time south regions start thinking towards that line.

Nope. Just trying to teach you to face reality, deal with facts as they are and stop calling everything fake news just because it is not particularly favourable. With these confirmations from clear, unimpeachable sources, you are now forced to swallow your shallow assertions that people were churning out fake news due to hatred for the north. (Pride no go let you sha)

These reports have been coming out, rather than facing facts and criticizing the obvious lapses of the government whether at state or federal level, you either start playing ostrich by claiming that people are spreading falsehood because they hate the North or you engage in baseless comparisons with other tribes/regions. That makes absolutely no sense and keeps you completely irrational thereby losing objectivity.

Kano and Ganduje have not responded even remotely effectively to the COVID-19 situation and the outcome is yet to fully manifest.
