is nepotism a crime in a pan-african organisation? he hired the best candidates. we nigerians are better than the other africans.

proof: all past presidents have been francophone or ethiopians, and they foolishly allowed non-africans to run a pan-african bank

This is not your private company where there's nepotism, favoritism, tribalism etc come into play.
Nigerians should desist from the practice of running business as usual because it is unprofessional to do so. If he's found culpable he should face the law.

Some of the allegations are weighty, but would appear insignificant to Nigerians who are used to being violated by their government and leaders without a break.

On the flip side, the real reason he is wanted out may not be stated directly (especially if it’s not to Africa’s benefit), as it may just be that he was putting Africa and Africans first.

Any leader worth his salt would always question the core objectives, and the capacity of his organization to solve real problems. This can be very frustrating if the leader understands most of the problems but is forced to follow laid down bureaucratic systems that are unhelpful for meaningful impact. This is why the media is used extensively by the US government to advance specific narratives that shape the thoughts of the people world over in specific directions. Those directions are not altogether bad, but sometimes, they are very sinister.

As anyone wondered why there seems to be very little impact in spite of the decades of presence of all those donor organizations (USAID, UNESCO, WHO etc) in the poor and developing countries? Sometimes it even looks like they are monitoring spirits with agendas totally separate from helping the host countries. This is while the myopic and uninformed African leaders look on. Most of those organizations appear to promote their parent country’s interest more, thereby compounding the host country’s problems mostly.

Truth be told, the standards for such international organizations are usually very high but become superficial. Superficial because powerful member nations such as the US and other advanced countries get to influence things from the very top, and bend the rules without checks.

In other words this Adeshina’s case may just be that of: Do as I say, and not as I do, which by the way is understandable.

HE THAT PAYS THE PIPER DICTATES THE TUNES! If only Africa could look inwards and get its acts right!

We await the outcome of the independent probe.

What you fail to understand is that there is virtually no government without corruption, you hear what they want you to hear. They will never stoop so low into allowing an outsider put them in a helpless situation. America will fight for it's citizen no matter what he or she does and same applies to their fraudulent acts outside the shores of the USA.its still the same mentality we are carrying all around, nothing good can come out of a Nigerian because we are "corrupt" come to think of it, if developed nation's tend to fight for their citizens no matter the gravity of their offence why are there countries moving forward since you said Nigeria won't klmove forward with such mentality. Being your brothers keeper has nothing to do with economic infrastructure rather it will create a UNITY impression to the outside world and they would not even try to Bleep with our brains.

You are asking us to also shower ourselves in nepotism, defend Adesina because he is our brother. That's precisely what happens in Nigeria, and kills everything in short terms.

Look at a companies like Oando PLC, Diamond Bank. Once bright icons of hope, today they are shadows. Diamond is totally gone, Oando does not even own one of the gas stations that you see their names on, just keeps pretending to be an oil and gas exploration company. When you select your cronies and family to juicy position of authority, all they will do is feed indiscriminately on everything, as they have no clue of the why of anything. You will gradually kill everything.

I will summarize the 16 points to you incase you did not read, inter alia, you read cursorily: Dr Adesina is alleged to have abused his position by violating ethical guidelines in the recruitment and promotion of staff, disrespected internal probationary rules, condoned sexual harassment by his protégé, recruited unqualified staff, favouritism, duplicated company roles and probably wasted banks funds on unproductive concerns.

If you recall Dominique Strass Kahn, former IMF Chief; he was accused of ethical misconduct by sexually harassing a hotel maid and he resigned. If you worked in an international organization, you'd know that ethical misconduct or condoning ethical misconduct is as terrible as financial misconduct.

Good writing!

So he should not employ Nigerians, abi?

He should not be like Obasanjo and GEJ who did for other regions but skipped theirs.

His predecessors would have done more than that. His detractors are the ones at work because of his easy sail for the ticket of second term.
Majority of the allegations have almost nothing to do with him except that he is the numerous uno of the organisation.

In simple term, his detractors are fighting back.

Don't get me wrong, not allowing him to be ridiculed by our slave masters doesn't mean he shouldn't be probed, the last I checked he was heading an AFRICAN whatever, Africans should probe him not our colonial masters that's all I'm saying. Why must we always act upon their validation. This man has been investigated but hell no the almighty USA hasn't certified him Clean and so we AFRICANS should just agree with that. WAKE UP AFRICA

3.
Mr Fregene was later promoted again in 2018 to the position of Director of the Agriculture and Agro-industry Department with effect from the 1st of January 2018 when Mr. Ojukwu, the incumbent, was still in place (he retired on the 31st of January). While no succession planning is in place for functions as important as VPs and DGs, it is worth noting that in this case, not only was the succession planned, but it included an overlap of one month. Consequently, the bank ended up with two Directors of Agriculture and paid two salaries for the same position during the month of January 2018.

I really like your comment...it's very deep...
Especially on presence of donor agencies in Africa...

Adesina probably continued the poor ethical practice n disregard for bureaucratic procedures he met in Afdb....
The former president who's from Rwanda also filled the place up with Rwandese during his tenure.....
And not forgetting the French nationals occupy 65 senior post when their share capital is just 3% (nigeria is 9%).....
But what adesina forgot was the former presidents didn't ruffle any feathers, n probably played the game according to dictate of foreign powers.....

He was going to challenge the established norm, yet got himself dirty....
I don't want to believe he's that stupid.....
Let's wait for the outcome of the independent panel....

As for nairalander painting oyinbo people as saints....
I want to believe they've never lived in any western nation...
Just reside here for 1 year...una eye go clear....

Las...las...
African leaders go get sense....
Let them continue to loot n be subservient to western powers....
Behaving like idio.t mumu....
Africa's humiliation will continue....
And our development will be until thy kingdom come....
