Egyptians are holding a seventh day of mass demonstrations calling for President Mubarak to step down.

Mr Mubarak replaces the hated interior minister as part of a cabinet reshuffle designed to placate protesters.

Military helicopters continue to circle over Cairo's central Tahrir Square where crowds of people defied an overnight curfew.

Police in Egypt are returning to positions in some parts of Cairo that they abandoned on Friday.

The demonstrators call for a general strike and a huge march on Cairo on Tuesday.
