John Togo vows to resume bombing in 7 days

THE Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, led by wanted “General” John Togo, yesterday, threatened to call off its temporary ceasefire in the next seven days following the Federal Government’s refusal to convene a post-amnesty conference for aggrieved militants to ventilate their annoyance.

The group in a statement by its spokesman, ‘Captain’ Mark Anthony warned, “We want to call off our declaration for temporary cease-fire in the next seven days, starting from the day of this publication and continue massive attack on oil facilities in the Niger Delta following Federal Government’s recalcitrant approach to our temporary cease-fire agreement in the Niger Delta by refusing to address the fundamental problems of the region by convening a post-amnesty conference.

“NDLF time-bombs are still hanging on oil pipelines, oil well heads, oil jackets and other flow stations, which could be detonated through DCP/GPRS remote bombing operation. This time, we will touch both the NNPC major distribution export pipeline in the high sea with our high capacity time-bombs that have been planted on it barely two months ago,” NDLF boasted.

“Our resolve to resume hostility”, Anthony siad, “is a fallout of genuine peace deal on the part of the Federal Government, which the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, leadership and other well meaning Nigerians represented NDLF for peace negotiation between our organisation and Federal Government.

“By this resumption of fresh attack, we warn soldiers of Joint Task Force, JTF, to vacate our camps, which we abandoned for them, as our attacks shall not spare soldiers who prove stubborn by occupying our territories,” the statement added.

“We are aware that our operations have affected the refineries production in the nation and that is the more reason why we accepted and obeyed the call by CAN President, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor for cessation of hostilities temporarily.

“Our bombs planted on oil facilities may remain for many years and cannot be easily traced as many are buried inside the river and both the sea with skin divers while the land ones are buried under the surface of the ground in far thick mangrove forest against pipelines ready for detonation.

“It is not our wish to embark on massive bombing again. But federal government posture had compelled and pushed NDLF to think and wants to act otherwise”, he stated.

you guys must be quite naive to the happenings in 9ja. These militants make serious money from their activities. The fresh recruits of about 14 years make a mininum of N10,000 a day just by transporting stolen oil in the creeks. Then the bigger ones who get armaments and financial support from their sponsors make much more. Now elections are round the corner it is only normal that their sponsors arm and hire them for chaos after protecting them bureaucratically from the actions of JTF.
