AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MOHAMMEDU BUHARI GCFR

RE: HIKE IN FUEL PUMP PRICE AND ELECTRICITY TARIFF

BY: KENKWO, KESAANDU KINGSLEY

Dear Mr. President,

It is with a heavy heart filled with anger and pain that I write you once again concerning the state of the nation, viz-a-viz the hike in price of PMS and Electricity tariff respectively.

Sir, I wish to state bluntly that i am so disappointed that yet again, such unfortunate policy will be done under your nose.
Mr. President, it beats my imagination when such policies are being allowed to see the light of the day under your leadership. Were you not the same man who in strong terms condemned the Goodluck Jonathan's administration when there was an increase in the fuel pump price? Are you not the same Mr. Buhari who promised Nigerians 'change' back in 2015? Are you not the same man who toured the 36states of the federation telling Nigerians how the pump price of fuel will fall drastically under your leadership? Are you not the same man who vowed to make life more meaningful for Nigerians? Mr. President, did you actually lie to us?

Mr. President, no matter how much these sycophants around you may praise you for this action, have it at the back of your mind that it is just a step in the wrong direction but also a terrible one
Quite disheartening that these two important commodities were given to Nigerians by God to enjoy and have peace of mind, but with most of your actions, you have made life so unbearable for the common citizens of Nigeria. You increased VAT which has a direct negative impact on us, as if it was not enough, you came with this. At your quiet time, think of any policy of yours that has a direct positive impact on the citizens as you have these ones with direct negative impacts on us? I am certain that you will come up with an open apology to Nigerians.

In one of the open letters I have written to you, I made it very clear that at this time of your life, holding such a sensitive position like the number one citizen of Nigeria, you should do things right that will be acceptable in the sight of God and most importantly those of men because Vox Populi Vox Dei.
It also worthy to note that Nigerians are suffering and shall be sent to more sufferings with excruciating pains, courtesy of these policies of yours.
Nigeria is supposed to be the giant of Africa not just in mere words but in the standard of living of her citizens but without mincing wordts, we will be honoured if referred to as the rabbit of Africa courtesy of how you have treated. Even if this hike must be done, why won't you wait putting into consideration all we have passed through as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic? This is high level of being inconsiderate.
Mr. President, I must say that we have been ill-used by you.

Sir, let me also remind you that there is no justification whatsoever for this act of wickedness on the same by you stood in your sparkling white cloth and swore to protect and keep their interest first. Have you forgotten you are on oath? I know those enemies of Nigeria know and unknown to you are shaking you saying you have done noble, but note it that the bad names will be to you not even them.

Sir, I am not crying for what is holding me to leave me but for the whole world to hear my voice.
If you are still sincere on all you said to make Nigeria better, I think you should as a matter of urgency and paramount necessity, halt this policy and bring the fuel pump price to ninety naira(N90) and bring down the electricity tariff and also mandate them, from the generation stations to the distribution stations to ensure we have adequate power supply to derive our businesses which helps to improve our economy, as we deserve the best.

Mr. President, the pain is excruciating, the suffering is unbearable and we can not continue to die in our own father's land.
Kindly remember that you won't be the President forever and there is posterity to judge all your actions.
All I ask is for you to think about the common citizens of Nigeria first, and also remember that you are supposed to belong to everybody.

NIGERIA BELONGS TO US AND WE MUST MAKE IT BETTER.

My name is Kenkwo Kesaandu Kingsley (KKK)
President, Ihitte/Uboma Youth Forum, Imo State.
