Common on Becomrichn, Engineering at Ilorin has never ranked in the top 5 In Nigeria. In Nigeria today, OAU still ranks best in Engineering, followed by Lag. If there is anything Lag is good at, it is Engineering, they have the most diverse courses and also parade top notch professors. OAU is only better because they attract the best brains in Nigeria and prolly the best lecturers too.

Ilorin sucks in Engineering.

mo kan so nkan ti mo so just to rile Becomrichn a lil bit. I want him to reply with his usual Batu ridden epistle. I actually think highly of Ilorin. That said, Oba Awon University is still the best in Engineering. OAU with love, from the cradle of humanity!

What is the meaning of all this? Where is 'ATTACK' = human feaces that normally litters almost everywhere? This is nothing but work of modern cameras.

lol @ bold.
have you been there lately? Def NO.
Unlike those days, you cannot sight any form of 'ATTACK' in the premises.
Believe me, the almighty 'Attack Reserved Area' ( zamfara - stadium) is as Attack-Free as the 'walkway'.

Becomrichn:

the rating may be based on performance. While I was at the university of ilorin.  The engineering faculty was the best in nigeria for 3 years.
I wouldn't doubt that.
That was then.
Faculty of Engineering lost it all from the day Olufeagba was 'thrown out'. . . thank GOD he was embraced by those who knew and know his worth.

@ Becomrichn
nice sites to behold; memory -awakening indeed.
Nice one.

fstranger3 , you are wrong while i was in ilorin , for 3 years ilorin came top in engineering quiz in nigeria. if you have first class or upper from ilorin. Oil companies are going to pick you first than even first class from any school in nigeria.

Look go there and see the facilities on ground in ilorin. dont stay on the internet.

University of ilorin is the first University in Nigeria to own a radio station.

Even the gate automatic gate at the governor office and traffic lights in ilorin city then was been run as a project from the engineering faculty of the University.

uniIlorin attempted to launch a rocket into space before. You may still find this there. If they have not removed it. University of Ilorin has an observator.

Do you know what any observator is. An observatory is a location with equipment permanently mounted for the purpose of observing the sky and celestial events for scientific study. do you know another university that has that in nigeria.??

Even if the bolded is true, this doesnt make them to have the best Engineering Faculty for the stipulated period u stated.

The buildings look better in real life.

Building wise, OAU takes the cake. The best in West Africa as a matter of fact.

When did size of school become the yard stick in judging the quality of a University? Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, is not as big as unilag, but ranked currently as the 18th best engineering university in the world,15th best in 2009-2010 and 13th best in 2008-2009. The quality of an engineering faculty is determine mostly by the quality of cutting edge research they're into and its affiliation with the industry and not all the noise becomerichn is making.
Mind you, Unilorin was openned with professors from the older universities mainly UI, Unilag and OAU.
