POLICE PRESS RELEASE, LAGOS STATE COMMAND,  DATED 19TH OCTOBER 2020

AGAIN, VIOLENT PROTESTERS ATTACK POLICEMEN, DAMAGE POLICE VEHICLES IN LAGOS.

The #endsars# protest, which is gradually becoming violent, got heightened today, Monday, 19th October, 2020, when violent protesters descended on some policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Command at Adekunle, Yaba, around 10am.

The ninety seven (97) policemen, who were being conveyed to their various beats on routine relief duties across the state, came across the violent protesters who started shouting "No Police, No Police", and stoned them. After the attacks, nineteen (19) of the policemen were critically injured while 4 police vehicles were damaged.

The policemen, who scampered for safety, were eventually rescued and rushed to the Police Clinic at Panti, Yaba, for medical attention.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos state, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the attack and urged officers and men of the command to remain calm while they continue to manage the situation professionally, as usual in the state.

He further appealed to community leaders, parents and guardians, traditional rulers and religious leaders, to caution the youths against violence and any act that is capable of aggravating tension in the state as such will be counterproductive.

And the RRS is actually the only police unit in Nigeria with reasonable and well trained officers.

We can do better guys. Let's stop these violent attacks or the government will have a reason to not meet our demands.

God bless Nigeria!

Why attack RRS now sad
The only sane people in the Nigerian police force....
Thier response to de-stress call is swift....
They will assist you if your car breaks down on 3rd mainland bridge...
Reminds of a day we called them that cult boys were disturbing the hood and they came from Ikeja in less than 20mins with full convoy about 7 cars and 3 Hilux...still dint ask a penny from anyone...

We have a dream and the dream is here today

WE HAVE A DREAM....

...to see a generation that will never shout "Up NEPA"

....a generation that will not know the meaning of "ASUU Strike"

....a generation that will not be afraid to travel by road because of bandits and kidnappers in their own country.

...a generation that will not know what it means to be an unemployed graduate

...a generation where tokunbo car won't be a thing to celebrate

...a generation where their greatest dream won't be to leave their own country even if it's to go and become a beggar in another man's country.

WE have a dream and the dream is here today.

THE SORO SOKE GENERATION IS HERE

Incompetence in Aso Rock

incompetence seats imperviously in the rock,
watching his last drama in senility;

surrounded by old scoundrels as himself.
Same tyrant of yesteryear who through the powder invaded sanity,
stalling dreams by their guns.

incompetence foist on us by gangsters,
That robbed the destinies of thousand years
protected by criminals, feeding from proceed of fraud

joying in the decay called a country.
That British amalgam of 1914,

Incompetence desperate for power after several disgrace,
whines in tears like a baby at the third attempt.

soliciting empathy by emotions, clueless yet desperate, threatening
“The dog and the baboon would be soaked in blood”
and indeed, his dogs are killing the rest of us.

incompetence sleeps in the rock,
unaffected by the groaning of a people nestled in penury.

incompetence made the rock a domestic arena,
harbors kinsmen as attack dogs,

By nepotism stalls the progress of a Nation,
deluded and assuming that leadership is a cozy comfort away from sufferers.

incompetence is here to rule, Not a Leader, we have no leader yet.
Hides in ambuscade as his clowns misuse words like “The Presidency”

incompetence enmeshed the already besmirched reputation
as gutter tongues ranked us collectively as “hole”

incompetence robs a thousand destinies,
sixty years after the dark days, we grope in darkness

No road,
no water,
no Hospitals
"waiting for “godot”

promising a false future that never comes,
two times incompetence, twice fooled.

Incompetence in Africa's largest hub.
Incompetence makes a weakling of our strength

The law of natural progression

In life everything follows laws and irrespective of how you feel try to twist it or turn it to suite your narrative but the fact remains everything is subject to one form of law or the other.

The law of gravity= what's rises must fall
The law of karma= you will reap bountifully whatever you sow

The law of elasticity= whatever is stretched beyond it's elastic limit will break and surely recoil with the force of the back draft .

Nigerian politicians and elite have fed fat off the common wealth of the people for long

They used fear and intimidation to keep us in check. the thing about fear is that no human should live that way because it rubs one of dignity and self awareness. Have you met a person rubbed of their self awareness and esteem before ? They are always broken people , incapable of expressing their freewill and they act like sheep .. meaning when they follow one direction even if it means they will suffer hunger they continue...

Now the politicians molded us this way into a herd of sheep .. but alas the table has turned and we are showing our teeth and raising our fists in anger demanding justice .. it's a new feeling to us so forgive us if at first we where slow it pick up and follow the protests forgive us for we were made to be sheep yet again it's this sheep that we are that had become our strength...

For their guns and threats don't scare us anymore because anywhere we face we move

This is wrong, protests should be well organized & peaceful. Say no to whatsoever form of violence and disruption of economic activities.

Truth is, with the quantity of policemen moving in convoy, the protesters must have thought the worst, thinking the policemen were deployed to harm or tackle them. So in "self-defence", they had launched the attack to wade off any potential threat.

However, the attack was not necessary

Paid thugs attacked y'all, not #EndSARS protesters.

Hold your Leaders responsible.

The same people y'all lobby to serve in their police protection squad.

They are the ones you should be arresting right now.

This thing is clearly out of hand now.

From peaceful protests now we are slowly sliding towards a bloody insurrection.

This is no more a peaceful protest that good people supported since day one including Yours Truly.
This is getting out of hands.
Peaceful protest is the way to go.

But honestly Lagos has handled this protest professionally. I think they are monitoring everything and don't want to take action that will lead to the unthinkable

The strategy of the Nigerian Government is very clear: create violent situations by employing thugs to cause havoc then unleash the police and Army on the streets to kill the protest.

May a very Divine Thunder strike every man, woman or entity pulling the strings behind the scenes to sponsor these attacks and put an end to the peaceful protests.

May the blood of innocent Nigerians killed in the struggle cry against you and may you never know peace.

undecided I don't know why someone in their right senses would want to sabotaged this peaceful protest.
Are these thugs perpetrating this act possessed ? Or they are so comfortable with the current state of things in Nigeria?
