Just like it is with women.
If these policemen want to go, the IGP should let them go. "Never beg who doesn't want to be with you to be with you."

Agbamuche learnt the hard way that when a woman tells you that she is fed up; you should neither try to beg, coerce, blackmail or cajole her to stay back when he found out that the pastor whom he begged to counsel her on the importance and sanctity of marriage was the father of their 3rd child.

The IGP should not be scared.
The truth is that; even if all these policemen choose to retire today, there are many of us who are willing to pick up their batons and guns and replace them at those checkpoints collecting every 50 naira bribe with the truest diligence.

Welcome back Boss

Believe this nonsense and you’ll believe anything. Police are out there laughing their heads off about how they’ve used this to get better salaries and still retain the perks of their jobs - brutalizing and robbing innocent citizens.

If dem born then well, let them resign. There are hundreds of thousands of Nigerians waiting to fill those job slots.

Let them resign biko so they can do a complete overhaul of Nigeria police force.

Let me tell you implications

Those resigned, thr is high tendency that 75% of them will not get job/income as it was.

Those who knw how to use arms are suddenly disengaged, many of them will join armed robberies and other crimes

Even the incoming police, thre is high tendency that 75% of new recruits will behave the same way, those disengaged did, because its societal problems, not peculiar to one profession.

At the end both government and Innocent citizens will suffer more.

“There is no amount of talk that will assuage the anger of policemen. We are very angry. Many of my colleagues tendered their resignation, but they are not accepting it. The morale is terribly low. Our officers were dehumanised. Some were killed. Many of us don’t have offices anymore. Nigerians should ask us to go if they don’t need police anymore. Are we not also Nigerians? Why should we be treated like animals?

The police are the ones who treat people like animals. Now they get the same treatment, they are screaming blue murder! What a Workd we live in...

Police brutalized and maimed Nigerians for decades, but we keep enduring. Nigerians brutalized police for days, they wanted to resign. Yeye dey smell.
Police officers cannot be on the roads without collecting #50 from motorists or arresting and framing of innocent people.

Fat lies. Instead of admitting ur errors which led to the protest, they are still yaning balderdash waiting for we to beg them.

This is a thread worth commenting on

Police lives also matter.Their welfare and morale matter.Their continued training.strengthing of their systems and equipping them matter

On this matter Nigerians should be ashamed of themselves.Police men were killed across the Nation. Some were beheaded, some were rumoured to have been burnt ,one had his manhood cut off, their stations were burnt ,their barracks and families attacked and no one made an issue of it

In the countries you all boast off an attack on 1 Police man is a big deal ,but here people foolishly cheered on the carnage. However once protesters were rumoured to be killed with no evidence you all supported burning down the State. So police lives dont matter abi?

Nigerians owe the police force an apology. Its time to start their go fund me too and feed them too. Because Even if the system is flawed must you throw out the baby and the bathwater?

The police themselves are victims of a country with poor systems. They have no fuel to run their cars, poor protection for themselves and their families ,poor salaries, and despite this they still manage to keep the countries cities relatively safe

The areas to be strengthened needs to be identified and strengthened. But this attack on the police and their families must stop.We are not animals.

That said to every police officer reading This, those of us with sense pray for you that things get better for all of you in Nigeria. And the evil ones among you that spoil the force are pulled out. That you get all you need to work. That your families are safe, well cared for and protected. That a new dawn were theres accountability and good will for the force will come.

The ""foolish youths"" had better learn how to engage the system constructively to achieve this because that is the only way end police brutailtity will truly happen
