Just like it is with women.
If these policemen want to go, the IGP should let them go. "Never beg who doesn't want to be with you to be with you."

Agbamuche learnt the hard way that when a woman tells you that she is fed up; you should neither try to beg, coerce, blackmail or cajole her to stay back when he found out that the pastor whom he begged to counsel her on the importance and sanctity of marriage was the father of their 3rd child.

The IGP should not be scared.
The truth is that; even if all these policemen choose to retire today, there are many of us who are willing to pick up their batons and guns and replace them at those checkpoints collecting every 50 naira bribe with the truest diligence.

Welcome back my man.
I miss you
Nairaland miss you. grin grin

What about the hundreds of thousands of Nigerians that the police have treated like animals in the past

If they do not want to work, they should abandon their posts if their resignations are not accepted. Afterall should a man be forced to do a job he no longer wants to do?

We Need to understand the decision taken by the some of these police men. From the start, they have not been well taken care off. Hence they resorted to taking bribe to survive. Then ENDSARS Protest came and they were at the mercy of the Hoodlums. Currently their moral is very low and the IGP has a lot of work to do to motivate them. Take for example Edo state in this video, the number of Guns these Hoodlums looted from the police station is very plenty and scary. At the end, na we citizens nai go suffer if police moral day low.

Now they're using it to hunt their fellow cultists down. That's the result of stupidity. The onlookers and their parents.

You dehumanized Nigerians
You killed Nigerians
Made life difficult for people going about their
businesses

Now the tables turned and you got paid in the same way you treated others and you cry foul... police get some sense and treat citizens right and you will be amazed how they will stand up for you.

Apologise to Nigerians for being inhumane in the past stop.... u can still resign afterwards if u can't continue wiv the work.

For those of you who will return to work its not going to be harassment business as usual.... bring your civility along hen you dorn that black or blue uniform

both the IGP and the lowly ranked officers are crazy.
First of all there's nothing like "hundreds of police officers tendering resignation", a handful is not hundreds. This is Nigeria we know they can't resign without alternative of another job.
Secondly, IGP should allow those FEW officers want to resign to go. Why should people be forced to carry out a job as sensitive as police?
Third, obviously the entire police force as an institution and the police officers themselves have no plans to stop police brutality, bribery and incompetence at security.
Look at that one saying "we are also Nigerians".. Yeah Nigerians who harass other Nigerians and sometimes murder them and nothing truly happens as you often threaten

We are such unfortunate citizens of the country Nigeria

This IGP mumu wallahi instead for him to be happy and accept their resignation to give room for fresh responsible, well trained officers he is rejecting their offer to go on their own.

Oga police pls tender your resignation sharp sharp. It has be so long Nigerians had being shouting your uncontrolled excessiveness do you guys listen? No.

Nigeria police became so notorious they rank third extrajudicial killings in the world for 7 good consecutive years till 2020 pls what do you do about it?

Only in Nigeria in the entire universe police killed citizen because of N20 bribe i mean less than a cent in dollar and less than a pence in pound pls what do you do about it?

Pls resign if you can not carry on infact you should all be made redundant in batch and a new recruit taks your place.

Sorry officers you have lost your respects and its over. Buhari and the politicians that made your service a hell you did kill them or harrass them but chose to harrassed victims of bad government like yourself and you are expecting respect? Far from it.

The fight now is between Nigeria fulani hoodlums government against the poor citizens crying for help.

nigeria government terrorist security agencies has been harassing, intimating abducting and massacring unarmed innocent citizens mostly youthstars full of lights and brains since the day Britain unleashed terrorist lugard and his terrorist groups to invades our territories.

But we are going back to Biafra, if nigeria government stand in our ways, we will crush everything.

BIAFRA or no there will be no nigeria ..

The police brought this mess upon itself when it willingly offered itself as an instrument of state oppression and terror. It will take a long time for police in Nigeria to redeem its battered image. The police should study how police behave in civilised climes.
They are going about abducting/arresting unarmed innocent protesters and framing them up with fake charges. We are watching them....
How can a pig stop going into the mud?

The blood of innocent citizens Nigerian government security agencies has been massacring are arising up against their killers.

We are better off without Nigeria forces.

I pray let the next protests bring nigeria political terrorist states and federal government to shame. Until all the demands are met.

It is so sad that many innocent souls had to die in the course of the end sars protest ,policemen must however acknowledge their errors in treating Nigerians like animals..now that the boys girls reacted the police men are seeing things from the other side.. we must cooperate to live together

What's this disgusting self-righteousness by the police?!
They mentioned 6 policemen were killed but they refused to mention how many innocent citizens were killed by these murderers.

It took the intervention of citizens to stop area boys from burning the Meiran police station here after those idiots went to kill two citizens in cold blood.

They should learn to do their jobs without extortion and high handedness. If any officer is tired, they should let them go. It shows that the person does not know how to do their jobs and without killing and extorting.

I don't blame them, I blame the vacuum left by Buhari's death...or wait...erm
