Anenih Vs Obasanjo by sartorius(m): 7:26am On Jun 28, 2007
The chairmanship of BOT had pitted Anenih against Obasanjo and it was another indication of the no love lost between the former president and his former minister. The two were known to have had a chummy relationship until the tail end of Obasanjo’s eight-year tenure.
The duo disagreed over the candidature of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume for the governorship of Imo State. While Obasanjo was said to be opposed to Araraume, Anenih wanted the former Senator.
Obasanjo and Anenih also disagreed over the recent election of the Senate President, Senator David Mark. While Obasanjo, though out of power, had rooted for the party’s decision to endorse Mark, Anenih was at the head of a group of some former governors sponsoring the candidature of former Benue State governor, Senator George Akume who eventually lost the election.
The former President was said to have lambasted Anenih over his move against Mark, allegedly calling his former “Mr. Fit It” a rebel.
Meanwhile, the PDP National Caucus will meet today to decide the fate of Ali, its National Chairman, in view of the zoning of the chairmanship position to the South-east.
At the meeting, the national caucus will also review the situation in the party especially as regards the dissolution of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
THISDAY gathered that with the adoption of Obasanjo as the BOT Chairman, the only office left unoccupied is that of the National Chairman.
The national caucus will also review the agreements between PDP and the other three parties it planned to include in the Government of National Unity of President Yar’Adua.
Mr fix it also dissapointed OBj during the third trm when in the heat of it ,it was alleged that he travelled.Yesterday’s meeting of the board that produced Obasanjo as chairman took place in the absence of Anenih, the Secretary of the Board, Professor Jerry Gana, and former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, as well as a majority of the members of the board. THISDAY checks revealed that the meeting did not form a quorum

Hmmmmmm, wonders, they say, shall never cease. Obj is now "fixing" Mr. Fix it himself. Whatever it was that brought them together is now tearing them apart. The drama has just begun. I predict it'll get more interesting.

can Adams O. expect a positive ruling from the Edo election tribunal, as a result of this "family affair dispute"
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by initiator(m): 10:22am On Jun 28, 2007
Now the toxic politics of PDP is being served to the brewers one by one and it would be finally served to obasanjo, its just time. I hope anenih's disenchantment with PDP would lead him to allow the electoral tribunal in edo to run smoothly without his usual shenanigan. Yaradua should better stay away from obj cos dat man is BAD NEWS!
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by sartorius(m): 10:32am On Jun 28, 2007
Presently there is an attempt by anenih to create a new power centre in the PDP in unison with IBB
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by initiator(m): 11:50am On Jun 28, 2007
If we had an opposition not made up of noodle heads like yerima and hustlers like kalu thew wouldve exploited the factionalisation of the PDP.
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by Danmasani(m): 1:58pm On Jun 28, 2007
OBJ is a man devoid of decorum, good manners, disobeys Party and National constituitions among others. The man is simply an animal, a raging bull in a china shop. Remember his book, "The Animal Called Man"??, probably he was referring to himself

Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by Bankole01(m): 2:17pm On Jun 28, 2007
Dog eat dog, who gives a damn. Annenih is part of the PDP mafia who ruined and looted Nigeria. He knows Obasanjo well. He is getting what he deserves from their chosen jungle emperor. Obasanjo is the de facto ruler of Nigeria. The master puppeteer who calls the shots in both executive and legislative arms of goverment and this is why David Mark was installed and senate president.

Until Yar'Adua learns to distance himself from obasanjo and start to grow some balls, he will forever remain a puppet president. (in name only)
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by incxcess(m): 2:50pm On Jun 28, 2007
Bankole01 i do, if this is not sorted fast, the leadership of the country might spend a lot of time fighting each other rather than nation building.

Bros, it wont be funny oh!

On the contrary, it will be very funny to see them fight. Remember the OBJ Atiku fued, it will expose all their bad deeds. They should do us the favour of eliminating one another.
Good riddance to the whole rotten bunch!

anenih might challenge obj in the court
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by ifugoife: 7:45pm On Jun 28, 2007
I think Anenih's smart enough to realize that he might get justice quicker by some maneuvering than from the law courts.Remember he was the engine room at a time,so Obj is portraying some of his style. He will take either of these two options, chicken out,or fight it out.My guess is that he might want 2 choose the latter then,
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by babasin(m): 9:21pm On Jun 28, 2007
yet in all of this yaradua(Baba-go-slow) was present

so he is an accomplice to whole drama.

grin cheesy grin
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by DisGuy: 12:23am On Jun 29, 2007

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors are feeling uneasy with former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman.

The amended BOT rules in the party’s constitution give the Chairman the power to supervise PDP Governors and sanction those adjudged as not performing.

Obasanjo is also the Life Leader of the party, unlike Tony Anenih, Solomon Lar, and Alex Ekwueme who were BOT Chairmen before him.

His new status was conceived long before the PDP commenced its electioneering campaign in February.

Party sources in Abuja said the arrangement was contrived to give Obasanjo in retirement such powers as would compensate him for the failure of the plot to extend his tenure as President.

It was learnt that former PDP Governors, while in office, consented to the amendment in the BOT rules because it was the other condition – apart from supporting Umar Yar’Adua’s Presidential candidature – the party leadership gave to shield them from probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This was the party hierarchy’s strategy of confining to the past things that happened in the past.

The reasoning being that the prosecution of so many former Governors in the PDP would give the party away as one in dire need of moral rearmament.

Serving Governors are concerned that the Federal Government would exercise such absolute control over federating units as though Nigeria were a unitary state.

They are altogether perplexed that so much power could be concentrated in a President that had negotiated his exit from office.

They contend also that even where the party, through its National Executive Committee (NEC) – and not the BOT – has the prerogative of monitoring activities of Governors and other party members in public office, the constitutional rights to sanction Governors should be exercised by state Assemblies.

Governors, especially those from the Niger Delta, are determined to raise this issue at the next NEC meeting.

"Our leader … Obasanjo will remain with us on the BOT and will be guiding the hands of the new candidate and all the Governors because the new BOT empowers him to question any Governor that does not perform. What happened has happened in the past. Let us march forward", Ali had said before the swearing-in of the new Governors.

The Governors had scoffed at the idea when Ali first announced it.

They believe that Yar’Adua would be self-respecting and not allow elements outside the government to perform such an important function.

Some openly argue that the North, whose lawmakers deflected Obasanjo’s third term goal, would never consent to the arrangement.

But there has been a recent rapprochement that has seen Obasanjo regain favour with Yar’Adua, Ali, and others, at a time some party leaders had hoped Anenih would continue as BOT Chairman

Call it coup or whatever
This country can not dwindle back to the days of politics of scratch my back I scratch yours.

Yaradua should grow up.
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by kitaun(m): 3:14am On Jun 29, 2007
so how long do u think it will take for OBJ to lose this much-touted relevance undecided

abeg make d man go siddon jare angry

its so obvious that Yaradua would sooner than l8r do away with his over-bearing attitude cool
Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by sartorius(m): 7:17am On Jun 29, 2007

Re: Anenih Vs Obasanjo by follyg: 1:46pm On Jun 29, 2007
My people, are u surprised, no be here we dey wey dem manipulate elections. As they are through with general polls, they have to face themselves. Have u all forgotten that evil that men do lives with them not after them. Una never see o intrigues and power play just start, they will rise against themselves. Its a party with too much power brokers and people with parallel ideologies that were simply united by the common goal of ripping the country off in the most Cruel manner. Now God is intervening, the centre can no more hold, let them fall apart so that we can be free.

peace to u all
