What's happening in Nigeria have happened in other African countries but Southern and Middle Belt Nigerians are too daft to learn. The Janjaweeed is coming for us, I don't know why Janjaweeed is censored on Nairaland. They change it to "APC supporters" Is APC same thing as Janjaweeed? Janjaweeed is the security MiyettiAllah want to deploy to all over Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8__o6mzsX0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USLDoIiFzzg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmJ1cnyjKjE |

Buhari and his kitchen cabinet should hide their face in shame, so we are running to Niger Republic for fuel supply. Gaint sorry Ant of Africa. Buhari has not started disgracing Nigeria, by the time he gets to last minute of his tenure, then you will see better disgrace. Hope those that voted/ rigged this empty brain man into power are enjoying the dividend. 2 Likes

mosdii: Niger has a working refinery because they dont subsidise fuel Fuel in Niger costs over 350 naira per liter. Meaning there is enough cash to pay for thw upkeep and upgrade of the refinery Its simple really. Sell fuel at a profit, earn cash that is enough to fix your refinery We would have had working refineries if you guys had allowed GEJ to remove fuel subsides completely in 2011. And if we had removed fuel subsides since 1993 when the idea was suggested to us, we would have been exporting fuel everywhere by now. It is only just now that the apc government is making a decision that should have been made ages ago 1 Like |

As usual on this thread there is so much weeping and gnashing of teeth that no one is thinking about the reason why we are importing fuel from Niger. In Nigeria for over 4 decades, fuel until recently was subsidised. In practice this meant that fuel was sold below its production price, and government paid the difference between the production price and the sale price The problem is this led to zero profits which in turn has led to low cash in the system plus zero incentive to fix and maintain refineries And the truth is our refineries have been operating below capacity long before Buhari arrived. In Niger, they are too poor to pay a subsidy like we do. Subsequently fuel is sold at N350 or more per liter in Niger. This means profit is enough to sustain a working refinery producing surplus product In Nigeria, people love low prices for fuel, which is why Buharista fans voted for Bubu because he promised 40 naira per liter, or GEJ fans love GEJ because fuel sold for 86 naira from 2009 to 2015. Nlc wants fuel now at N120. The problem is, insisting on 40 naira per liter for fuel or even 90 naira not only makes our downstream sector uncompetitive, and also makes smuggling fuel attractive (especially as one can buy fuel at 170 here and sell at 350 over the border and make a smooth profit)..it also means there is no profit in refining fuel in Nigeria. If we want to buy refined in Nigeria fuel, we must deregulate the downstream sector. Even if it means fuel at 360 naira or 400 naira. It is the only way we can end sharp practices in yhe sector like smuggling, spending millions on 'maintenance ' and so on. We cannot refine fuel here at what i think is 160-200 naira per liter ( we dont have actual values from the petroleum ministry) and sell at 90 naira and expect profit to fix or build refineries 1 Like |

For those of you hoping in Dangote refinery, Dangote has to be allowed to sell fuel at the price he wants. Because if he isnt allowed to do so, he wont have the profit to keep up his refinery. Same for the over 60 other people who have refineries licences. |

Northern Nigeria is preparing for Nigeria's break up by building alliances with Niger and Chad. They're also quickly using up resources in the south and leaving theirs untouched Also they're stealing massively. Their religion teaches that no matter what bad deeds you do, you're forgiven once you build a mosque. The south needs to wake up 3 Likes |

Nigeria leaders have really finished this country. In fact nothing is working again. Imagine ordinary Niger republic is selling refined petroleum products to Nigeria that has more than one non functional refineries. Our leaders are so dumb to take necessary action to repair and reactivate these refineries and put them to work |

Why cant government import electric cars ,Subsidize solar, improve on electricty production and distribution so that if they want to be selling fuel @ 500 per litre, nobody will complain. Innosun should stop producing petrol powered cars and divert to electric /solar powered cars. Most homemade cars in Ghana are battery powered. Their light is regular. Most people dont have generators. So,as their government sells fuel for 350 per litre, it has no effect on d people. 1 Like |
