My own takes:
1)that bird can be a spy, good as its been killed.
2) maybe die dey hungry the bird, hence it flew into a place like Delta. Had it been it flew to Lagos or Abuja, it might still be saved.
3) na naija we dey. We ain't take no shit!

Well, maybe/maybe not. Such a flight could be in a straight line and therefore would assume the shortest distant between two points just like air planes. An air plane which goes on the average horizontal speed of 575mph takes about 7 hr (or 10 assuming there's a 3 hour stop over) so this falcon which could fly almost half as fast would take about 14 hours (without rest) and even with a 6 hours rest, it could still make it in less than a day. But that's assuming it went straight from Finland to Nigeria without touring around first or without flirting for too long at a stopover. Lol.

Ignorance is bliss!
Several species of birds are migratory by nature, and divide their time across continents within a year. Winter is imminent across Europe so it's unsurprising to see several unusual bird species at this time of the year in Nigeria and other parts of Africa because a lot of birds are fleeing Europe for a warmer climate in Africa.

Naija!
And to think of it, the innocent bird was just retracing her roots after being told by the researchers that she came from Delta state and Warri to be precise.
Jesus should take note. Let this scenario serve as lesson to him so that he will redraw the map of places in World that he will come like thief. He better gives Nigeria two months notice and Delta/Benin one year notice and hire special military escort or this will be his future
and to think some f00ls really liked the gibberish you wrote here marvels me.

Its not a peregrine... its an Osprey Aka Fish hawk..
A peregrine is widespread while an Osprey isnt.. Reasoned why its ringed to help its population. a peregrine has yellow feet.. An Osprey is grey because it usually spends its life in lakes, estuaries and rivers. chk d pics.. D first is peregrine.. D second Osprey

grin Lol, maybe/may not. No one knows for sure. But I'm sure the bird didn't wake one morning and say, "This year, I'm going to take a direct trip to Nigeria." It must have stopped at different countries, checked out some tourist location; go for sightseeing before continuing its journey which might take days. It will be interesting to know the actual duration of its trip.

The falcon is originally from Delta. She went for a meeting in Finland and was mistaken for a bird. She was held captive for years. She manage escaped only to meet her Waterloo in her home town as her shrine has been destroyed long ago and she couldn't return to her real self again.

May her soul rot in hell!

Yup, I agree with you on that. But then again, most migratory birds have a particular destination (or set of destinations) they go once a year for a different climate. They do it annually that it becomes direct trip over time. For example, the geese where I stay go south of the US every year. However, even though this falcon is a migratory bird (which naturally covers 15,500 miles per year), it obviously dosen't make an annual round trip to Nigeria seeing that it was held in captivity at a museum. So this one seems to have had a terrible heartbreak and decided to go on a death trip.

See us turning into animal investigators grin

Major general Chukwuma Nzeogwu who led a coup that was tagged an Igbo coup is from Delta state. I don't know when u and ur likes will receive sense and know that states are mere government creations. You are claiming Deltan today, what if tomorrow another state is created and ur village happens to be included in the new state, will you be a Deltan or the new state. Get sense joor
