National assembly should do.the needful and stop embarrassing themselves. Fix the laws first!
Are you talking of the same NASS that said they don't have to power to change the constitution?

Above is the current link of interview of Femi Falana where he stated that the president can be summond

Thank you.

The Constitution has evolved since when he last made that comment.
Let's wait and see what the SC has to say about this.
But since the NASS is majority APC, they won't test this in court not modify that portion of the Constitution to be clearer
Re: Femi Falana: Senate Has No Power To Summon President, Governors (2018) by idealogical: 7:49am On Dec 12, 2020
Falana made the comment in 2018, but both sections were active within the constitution before and after he made the comment so nothing evolved before or after he made the comment, he double talked and contradicted himself.

The thing is, Nigerian news presenters don't research topics of discussion, they don't ask follow up questions, they don't even call out their guests when the lie or make contradictory statements, they jus let them lie and keep lying.
I think that’s the work of their producers and news crews behind the scene too.
The presenters can’t research on every topic or know everything. That’s why they wear a headset so the producer can communicate with them on such issues when a guest is misleading the public to immediately correct that or ask follow up questions. If it’s a prerecorded interview, there should also be an Avenue for the crew to still put the records straight as we have seen with Fox News, CNN and the likes.
I quite agree with you but the buck doesn’t stop on the presenter alone but the entire news crew.

Read and comprehend, we know what he's saying today, the issue is what he said back in 2018.

Do you know the meaning of hypocrisy and contradiction?

But he did say d constitution was under review at that time and he advised them to put that decision under review, maybe now it has been reviewed into section 88 and 89. Not defending him that's why I said maybe

The issue or national security should be an issue of national concern, the president can be summoned by both the upper and the lower chamber to inform the nation what is going on as per the level of insecurity in the land...

Lawyers - and people - are allowed to change their minds or amend their position on any subject.
Can anyone provide anywhere that Falana has claimed to be God that is fully infallible?

Thank God it is the same President that was in place in 2018 and 2020.

Falana in 2020 stated clearly that Nass can summon the President so also Fashola a SAN. Are you saying both of them are wrong?

The issue here is that a highly respected senior advocate will come on national tv and make glaringly quite contradictory statements about the same issue ,the height of deceit if you ask me . Guy, you should be calling out falana on this and not trying to say his latest statement is correct

This is just too blatant and deplorable.

These liars go on National TV everyday to spew their lies and crooked legal opinions for millions of unsuspecting Nigerians to swallow.

What he is saying and this thread is about is that Falana contradicted himself.
What falana said in 2018 is different from what he is saying today.
