Nigerian mass car crash leaves 20 dead Witnesses say more than 20 people have died after a fuel tanker slammed into the back of a line of cars waiting at a police checkpoint in central Nigeria. The crash happened on Friday as vehicles waited at a police checkpoint on the border of Plateau and Bauchi states in Nigeria's fertile 'middle belt' region. At least 20 vehicles caught fire in the ensuing explosion and blaze that spread across the two-lane highway running through the town of Narabi.
