The Action Congress of Nigeria, South West Caucus, has called on Nigerians not to be deceived by the statements of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole; a former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Senator Iyiola Omisore, accepting defeats in the National Assembly elections.

The caucus described the statements as “the deceit of the serpent.”

The party’s position was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Tuesday by the caucus’ Director of Publicity, Mr. Ayo Afolabi.

ACN said that laudable as the concession statements of the politicians that Saturday’s election was a reflection of the wishes of the people, the people should not be deceived by the statements.

The caucus wants Bankole, Oyinlola and Omisore to go a step further by confessing that they rigged past elections in the country to enable them to occupy public offices.

The statement read, “We appeal to our people not to be taken in by their concession statements; it is the deceit of the serpent.

“Let them confess that they rigged past elections. We should keep our eyes and ears open. Let the current political tsunami consume all of them.”

The caucus commended the people of the South West for trooping out to vote for the ACN in the last election and urged them not to relent until all the elections were concluded.

The caucus also urged party faithful in Ekiti State to be encouraged by the ACN victories in other South West states in the National Assembly elections and replicate same in their state during the rescheduled National Assembly polls and other elections in the state.
