I just heard, what sparked the Wuse stampede was a foolish mistake made by some passers-by who saw a tied bag leather bag and thought it a bomb. People started fleeing indiscriminately and b4 long the thing had taken a life of its own. After police arrived they tore it open and found soup making ingredients, the bag's owner had been hiding lest she be hung by the frenzied and panicky crowd.

Just drove thru Maraba a couple of hours ago as the Military were restoring peace. The riot started in front of the CPC  office where lots of tyres were heaped on the express and huge fires lit to block oncoming and outbound traffic. then the perpetrators started vandalizing cars and attacking innocent citizens.

I really appreciate the prompt response from the Garki Police Command.  They were everyehere in Garki and they quickly locked down the Model market in Garki 2.  The Military men from Abacha Barrracks were also equal to the task.
