Zonal Congresses: PDP Seeks To Dislodge APC, Return To Power In 2023 by nairavsdollars(f): 7:48am On Apr 13, 2021
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s major opposition political party, is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to return to power which it lost to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 presidential election, Daily Independent has gathered.

One major way the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) is trying to achieve this is to organise a rancour-free congresses nationwide and elect loyal party executives who can deliver the six geo-political zones to the party in the 2023 general elections.

Speaking with our correspondent on Monday, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) said the party leadership is also trying to use the successes of the congresses to close ranks so that they will go into the 2023 election as a united family.

He said, “The zonal offices are provided for by the constitution. Filling the positions helped the party to strengthen itself and also renewed the structures. It is also preparatory to holding of elective national convention”.

“The party is using these congresses to test conflict resolution mechanism and its ability to renew itself. The APC dare not do some of these difficult party tasks. They are afraid of the impending implosion”.

He added, “What this means is that they have conquered the demons of the aftermath of congresses early and have enough time to heal and close ranks.

“By implications, they won’t go to the elections as a divided but united house. That’s a joker that might elude the APC. Our aim in PDP is to build a strong, formidable party that can return us to power in 2023. And that is why the party leadership is not only interested in conducting a peaceful congress nationwide but also putting in place loyal and hardworking executives who can deliver their zones in 2023”.

APC will only loose 2023 if CPC caucus(north west zone) and Acn caucus (south west zone) pull out of the party anything else is futile effort.

North west has over 18m voters.
PDP has not won here 2011,2015,2019.

South west has 14m voters pdp have not won here in 2015 ,20119

North east has over 10m votes PDP has not won here 2011, 2015,2019

If PDP zone their ticket to atiku another fulani man. Then apc will win middlebelt (north central votes) by 60-30 unlike the traditional 50/45

PDP real votes in south east and south south region has been unveiled in 2019 election.

APC got 19% in 2019 from 5% in 2015 in south east

APC got 32% in 2019 from 8% percent in south south region.

How PDP want to win 2023 election remains a mystery

am surprised PDP or any other party hasn't started the propaganda APC launched before the 2015 election.

Both APC and PDP are mad.

What will stop Ganduje from joining PDP tomorrow if APC loses? Nothing!

What will stop Wike from Joining APC tomorrow if PDP loses? Nothing!

All of them are the same, but I don't blame them.
I blame Nigerians.
Majority of Nigerians are gullible, especially here on nairaland.

If not ethnoreligious bigots and because APC-appointed INEC boss can rig the 2023 presidential election in favor of APC, who in his right mind can side with APC candidate by 2023, considering all the insecurity, hunger, inflation, poverty and deprivation that APC brought against Nigerians?
Re: Zonal Congresses: PDP Seeks To Dislodge APC, Return To Power In 2023 by emmanuel596(m): 8:16am On Apr 13, 2021
Nonsense

If not that I hate cross carpeting and recycled politicians I would have asked PDP to go beg oshiomole and make him party chairman 2023 would have been bloody. Secondus has overstayed in PDP with very little results to show for it

Simple question we need to answer is this, WHAT OR WHO IS APC OR PDP? If we can answer this, we'd embrace the ETERNAL TRUTH that what we have in the two parties are still sane political Jobbers, miscreants and thieves who have led us to our present state

Another Eternal TRUTH we need to embrace is that NIGERIA HAS NEVER BEEN, WILL NEVER BE ONE. If we were homogeneous people, perhaps we could hold government accountable. Not when we have been divided along ethnic and religious lines, blinding us to the faults of our own...
