London -Fifty-two Nigerians
will be deported, today, by
the UK government, a
Nigerian official at the High
Commission in London has
said.
Mr Mohammed Isa, the
Head of the Immigration
Section in the Nigerian High
Commission in the UK,
speaking with the News
Agency of Nigeria, NAN,
said that the would-be
deportees would arrive at
the Murtala Mohammed
International Airport in a
chartered flight.
He said that they included
those who had either
completed their prison
terms, failed-asylum seekers
or those who overstayed
their authorised permit.
Mohammed further also
said that those to be
deported would be
accompanied by British law
enforcement agents and two
Nigerian officials.
“This is the first time a
chartered flight conveying
Nigerian deportees would be
accompanied by Nigerian
officials,” Isa said.
He added: “Though, it is also
in line with the global best
practices, it is our
responsibility to ensure that
the deportees are treated in
the most humane and
dignified manner.”
He pointed out that the
mission had never recorded
any `ugly incidents’ on the
UK route since the exercise
began following the
conclusion in 2005, of a
Memorandum of
Understanding(MOU) on
migration returns between
the two countries.

^ ^ ^
dude, you sound dumb. we know the majority of the people that flock to the UK are Yoruba and there is nothing wrong with admitting that. you act like every Yoruba person goes there legally and only Southeastern folks go there illegally.
@topic why is it always news when Nigerians are being deported? this is why people look at Nigeria the way they do. WE NIGERIANS LOVE BAD NEWS, SO WE CAN JUST WHINE AND COMPLAIN. why is it news that people are being deported? if you are illegal then you will be deported, end of story.
Nigerians must always over publicize everything.

^-- Claiming 99.9% of one group is no dumber than claiming 90% of the other (neither is based in sound reasoning.) So if one should be condemned, so should the other.
Re: Uk Govt Deports 52 Nigerians, Today by THEAMAKA(f): 12:18am On Apr 21, 2011
LOOOOOOOOOL.
90% how did you know i wasn't referring to 51%?? anyway, im in no mood.

Re: Uk Govt Deports 52 Nigerians, Today by ektbear: 12:33am On Apr 21, 2011
Maybe you misread a bit; nobody is accusing you of claiming any specific #.

Point is, if you want to condemn one guy for claiming 99.9%. . . seems that someone else claiming 90% should be condemned (unless of course somehow you didn't see the post in this thread.)

Otherwise, double standard.

Selective condemnation/outrage is pretty silly

OHHHHH, i see the comment you're referring to now.
didn't catch it at first.

^-- Ah, ok. Most of the time when people say something silly, it is in response to something. Ordinarily this sort of thread won't descend into tribalism until someone starts it. I was thinking you were ignoring the first punch thrown and only condemning the second one (rather than condemning both or letting both slide.)

Anyway, no big deal.
