IMO, they shoudnt. Have killed it instantly, that is if it was captured alive. A python that just swallowed a prey is completely harmless. Do you know 5min amateur documentary on that snake would fetch you in youtube

The last time I witness this in my village, I want with a camera... Now when ever I travel villa, I dey pray for situations like this...

Stop exaggerating, can you leave your child with a python when you see one. Can a child hold down that big goat or control goat as he wish? If the answer is no how come that your gentle python was able to swallow the goat and it couldn't escape?
For clarity purpose, a python become weak and need to stay at a particular place for a reasonable time after it must have swallow it's food especially when the food is big when compared with the size of the python. At that point it become a little easier to kill but despite that, one still have to be careful not to be come the Python's second victim

To my knowledge when a phyton swallow big food like this, it takes like days to digest so during this period, the phyton can barely move. So maybe they found it resting.

And pythons are non-venomous.

It swallowed it whole and its tired already and can't move well any longer so it would be killed on the same spot. Its very easy to kill when it had swallow something

Even a little child can handle a python because it's not an agressive animal on like cobra, boa, black mamba the mumu snake , etc

Guy no talk that thing again o. A python will constrict a full grown human to death in seconds if it feels threatened. They are very docile after eating a large meal and can be killed by anyone though which explains the ease at which rhis one was killed.
