I saw this article earlier in d day and I just can't understand d desperation of this administration. Some time ago, this same customs locked up car marts in Lagos for d same reason. How did these planes get into d country if they didn't pay import duties?

Does Buhari want to know people who own private jets in the country so he can collect loan from them?

What Buhari cannot do does not exist

Buhari cannot stay in government forever!

Dumbest thing I have heard ..you think anybody is mad to register his private jet as Nigerian ..Most private jets are registered outside and are considered to be only visiting and pay FAAN for that ..so this old archaic custom boss is imagining he can force them to pay import duty for the jets? cheesy. They will just move the planes to Ghana and the planes will come from there to pick them up in Lagos when ever they have a trip

“The Service believes that owners of private aircraft are highly-placed individuals who would be willing to comply with extant laws of the land governing importation of the aircraft they own, this includes payments of all appropriate duties and taxes,” Attah said.

I'm tired! Aren't you tired of repressive taxation of the masses. We don't operate a laissez-faire economy. It's rentier the majority of the owners not all have some connection with the government. They should be taxed fairly. The masses are taxed left right and centre. You advocate that rich should be left alone. I am quite sure the majority of their wealth is stashed away abroad. Most rich people allover the world do it why wouldn't ours. Thank Gawd you don't run the government

99% of Nigerians think every private plane is automatically a jet, including those working in media.

This! So on point. People flying propeller propelled aircrafts will be calling them private "Jet"

This does not make sense.

You can't import an airplane. A plane is meant to fly regularly. The owner of those airplanes pay to hangar their planes in an airport pending when they need to takeoff again. In fact, buying an airplane means that you flying regularly.

If the airplane is not registered in Nigeria, then the owners should only pay for using the airport. It's as stupid as asking a foreigner to pay import duties on his airplane because it has been in Nigeria for some period of time. Has the owner not been paying for parking? Or is parking free? Parking fee is one of the expenses incurred by plane owners.

What sort of stupid country is this? Are we this daft? Our quest for money is going to be our undoing. Go and ask Zimbabwe. Let's use sense.

Sometimes, you should avoid collecting money so as to get more people interested in you. When they come, they spend, your people go make money, everybody go chop, not only government that will collecting money. Before you know, everyone would want to move their money to Nigeria. How do you think people started stashing money in New Zealand, Singapore and UAE? People are looking for where to find solace for their wealth. Nigeria is one of those place. It has always been. Check how many white people moving to Nigeria from Europe and US, e go shock you.

If government is rich and the people are poor, is that not an error? Unfortunately, that's the direction Nigeria is heading with all these lame money sucking moves.

We no get sense for this country. Na only luck we get.

Some people blow big grammar that is above their level of understanding.

After plunging 100m people from Poverty to Extreme Poverty some joker says Buhari is a Socialist.

Can't people read up and educate themselves.

NEVER in our history has one man plunged so many people into hopelessness like this man.

Three recessions under his watch. What an evil record. He is evil.

Their monies will run out because they make their money from Nigeria's disorganisation.

They can't make what they make here in an organised country.
