A Jackson man shot another man six times after finding out the man he met online was not a woman, a detective testified Monday.

The case against Onyekwelu Okeke, 22, on an aggravated assault charge was outlined during his preliminary hearing before Hinds County Judge Melvin Priester.
After Okeke met the unnamed man on an online chatroom, the two met in person and had MouthAction, according to testimony.
But when Okeke touched the victim's private area, he discovered he had a male anatomy, and that is when he shot him six times, Jackson Police Detective Carlotta Bacon testified.
"The defendant was under the impression he was meeting a female," Bacon said.
The victim was dressed as a female at the time, according to Bacon.
The shooting occurred in the early morning of March 24 on Northtown Drive in Jackson.
Bacon said a .45-caliber was recovered when Okeke's vehicle was stopped on U.S. 80 after police put out a description of a vehicle seen leaving after the shooting.
On cross-examination by Okeke's attorney, Assistant Public Defender Jacinta Hall, Bacon said the victim was listed as of Monday morning in stable condition at a local hospital.
Hall said the shooting may not be as gruesome as it sounds considering the circumstances.
"I don't know if the victim would agree with that," Priester told Hall.
Hall argued that since Okeke had no prior criminal history, he should be entitled to a low bond and that Okeke couldn't afford a bond more than $5,000.
But Okeke will have to come up with a lot more than that to get out of jail. Priester set Okeke's bond at $250,000, but left open the possibility that the bond amount could be revisited.
