@Big B1

I'm sure you don't have so much information about IBB's assets. Forward you enquiries to Kresta Laurel.

By the way, who wan talk say Daniel no thief money during project 3rd term? What I'm saying is that the Kresta Laurel and Laurel group of companies had billions before Gbenga Daniel became Governor.

@Romeo

you keep tempting me to insult you. I'm sure you'll be very grateful if I do so I won't.

I still don't know why we try to justify other people's wealth without knowing them personally and we are not toooooo sure how things work.

But it is ok to make blanket condemnation even when we are without facts too? The art of fairness and balance is lacking on this thread, It is fair game to say he is corrupt and stole the money without knowing them personally, while 'justifying' their wealth is wrong

To spikecylinder asking what the 'connection' is, there is no connection; I don't need connection in trying to shed more light on an issue, I don't know what he is worth, but those businesses of his that I know about, I'll definitely mention them, information helps us arrive at accurate conclusions.

@ romeo, installing elevators may not make you billions on their own, all that means is that you don't know/have information as to the full extent of his business dealings, or investments or property appreciation (which I also do not have). I just feel the pain and suffering we have undergone at the hands of most of these politicians prevents us from looking at things dispassionately.

I have not said he is not corrupt, or that he didn't steal government money, but I think it is not implausible to think that someone dealing in an international business with high capital cost will be worth 20million pounds. In light of our poverty it may well be huge, but definitely not an implausible achievement without government funds.

some people ask whether others can make 20million pounds in 20 years, well not on a salary you can't, but with sound investments and business principles, it is not impossible. It seems to make some people feel better about their own personal failings if they can reduce a man's achievement to simply stealing money.

Again I do not say he is innocent, but please a little more objectivity will do us a lot of good.

I actually do not know this man even at this moment i am writing this post or the state he's the Gov. but my argument was that the business listed as his money spinner is not enough to generate that kind of cash and he's not wanted for any fraud anyway, but if he has more things going on we should know it as citizens Nigeria and thorough investigation should be carried out by the appropriate department responsible to clear all dust

independent bodies should also carry out a kind of independent assessment of their properties and assets to avoid loop holes for siphoning funds (EFCC) grin

Oh you're beefing my profile pic. That's cool. Thanks for appreciating. I decided to remove the other pic so that I could bring Nairaland to my world.

I bought my own place last year at a giveaway price from one of those mumu that wanted to travel out at all cost.

You guys, keep selling your birthright to us so you can go to Libya.

Better download that picture because every week, I'll post a new pic. You've gradually become my fan yet you still in denial.

@romeo

sorry, I didn't reply you in time. I was typing something I wanted to email to the Spanish Ambassador. Help me check it for spelling errors and you can suggest something I could add to make it more convincing.
Happy reading:

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to you on behalf of the Obazee family of Benin city to the Spanish Government through you as the ambassador of Spain to Nigeria.

In October 2006, a certain Mr. Omoruyi Osemudia sponsored my nephew Esosa to Spain from Nigeria with a promise to play football without the knowledge of his family.

Since the disappearance of Esosa from Nigeria months ago, we have recieved news only recently that he has been engaged by his sponsor in several menial jobs but being unable to meet his repayment obligation, he is now being engaged in several petty crimes in order to fulfil his repayment schedule.

He has now been initiated into a gang specialised in Car theft, retrieving and conveying money obtained through internet fraud,
document forgery,
counterfeiting and especially alien smuggling. We are particularly worried about his involvement in smuggling of other illegal immigrants because we learnt that he sustained a severe injury in one of the occassions.

Esosa is being forced to commit these crimes by being lied to that we, his family are held in custody of Mr Osemudia in Benin and our lives are at risk if he does not obey. But I maintain that we're absolutely hale and hearty and we're currently not even not in Benin and have not even met this trafficker, Mr Omoruyi Osemudia.

We're appealing to the Spanish government and Spanish police to help us secure Esosa's freedom. He's just 21 years old and over the past 8 months he has been put through a lot. We have been trying to locate or contact him through our own meagre efforts but from what we hear, this gang that is holding him in bondage keeps changing his identity and location regularly. The other kids enslaved by these criminals also undergo this same ordeal of having to different identities and locations while being used to perpetuate crimes.

We hope to be reunited with Esosa by the grace of God, and we pray that other families whose children have been tricked and stolen from them will also have their children back. We are all placing our hopes on the Spanish government and the Spanish Security Agencies to come to our aid. A copy of this letter is also being sent to Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs to ensure that all efforts are geared towards recovering this stolen child.

May God bless you again for you anticipated earnest efforts.

Dennis Obazee.

My Goodness! Look what I saw lying around carelessly on the internet. The Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria's email address. Wow!

embespng@mail.mae.es

Mr Angel Losada Fernandez.

So please when you're through proofreading the letter, let me know so I can post it to him.
Re: Gbenga Daniel Declares Assets Worth 4.46 Billion Naira by romeo(m): 7:55pm On Jul 18, 2007
Nigerians are not engaged in car theft and even the police over here knows it!!

@post
i can help in locating your nephew if he has an e-mail or telephone number, but it's going to be difficult for the police here to locate him if he's not documented, but you can accuse the other guy of slavery, forced labor, and kidnapping and the police here will start working immediately, and the guy must have another name here in Spain if he's into all those things you mentioned above, and if you have a picture of the culprit you as well post it to them
