When all you do is look for sad news and disaster happening in Nigeria, how will you not miss good news?

Lagos Ibadan train that people have been riding since January and buying tickets at old train yard while work was going on at the new station

Which train ? Old or new ? Are you talking about people going to Sango and beyond ? Don't mix things together. You mean people living at Ajah and Lagos Island or People at Ajamgbadi and Festac or People at Ikorodu and Ojota have been riding the train since January ? Nobody at Ebute Metta is aware of the commencement of Lagos - Ibadan route. When Abuja - Kaduna started, daily, we were informed about crowds at the Abuja terminus. We were fed information about how it was difficult buying tickets because of high demand. Nothing was heard about this one.

The Train is good for UI and Ibadan Poly students. IITA staff and others in that axis will also benefit. The cost of that project is over inflated.

Online and on social media apart from LinkedIn, you find out most Nigerians are not intelligent. They are very dull and find themselves in government or as parasites to the very unintelligent people in government . It is only on LinkedIn you find some Nigerians that are very intelligent and core professionals.

Adekunle / Alagomeji is where some of us grew up. The terminus is opposite Oceanic HMO. If test driving or test train riding is what you called services commencement then Nigeria is gone and is a country of fools. If Nollywood Actor was invited on test ride for publicity purpose when transport fares and services scheduled timetable were not out and people at Oshodi, Ikeja, Otta, Iddo (Ibadan ), Apata, Dugbe up to Moniya are not aware of commencement of services until services officially announced and transport fares made known to people, then you are a politician.

Nigeria is gone already. It has become a den of thieves where intellects and reasoning are caged and no truth. Your hypocrisy on this over inflated projects will soon be exposed.

Accept you erred and move on .
I live and work in Ibadan. The train has been in operation for a while now.

With all your brain power and $420 billion, you have put the nation in debt of over N32. 9 trillion, or $86.3 billion. Another debt of $22billion has been approved for borrowing. Nobody is arguing the usefulness of infrastructure but you have too much brain power to process that. What we've said is very simple and clear. The government should be careful not to put us in senseless and reckless debts and signing away our sovereignty in the process. No one tied it to APC or PDP or the Lord's work. But i guess that's all the power in a politician's brain, to play religion, tribe and politics. Use that brain of yours and think outside your selfish pocket position.

You have fallen mugu for the signing away of immunity raised by PDP politicians who signed the same contract (Abuja-Kaduna rail $500m loan) they now complain about as at 2010 when they controlled the presidency and NASS. How can you be complaining against another govt of what you did? Is that not madness?

They know many of you are not smart enough to ask critical logical questions like bros, but your party was in charge when this same contract was signed. They know you are mere ethnic and religious bigots so anything against other groups will sell whether true or false.

On one hand you claim infrastructure is good and necessary, now experts say we need to invest. $80-100bn every year for the next 10 years before we can hope to dent our infrastructure deficit. But all FG earns is $30bn every year. Now you expect them to extract $100b out of the $30b and you think that is possible without raising cash by other means? Sad commentary on your intelligence.
No matter the loans we get we can't raise $100b we need, hence automatically with logic, we can't close infrastructure gap in 10 years. Do we then throw up our hands in defeat? No, but that's what PDP did, forget infrastructure and share and loot the money while oil boom last. This strategy ensure we have nothing to fall back on when the inevitable Oil bust comes.

The APC strategy is to identify critical infrastructure that can support our non oil economy, one of which is logistics/transport hence the heavy investment in railway and roads. Monies normally shared via looting was mopped up hence the cry of no money in circulation.

Because of the huge bureaucracy on ground and loss of 70% of govt income, it would be painful to further send civil servants home or retrenched. Hence the other option is to take foreign loans for infrastructure to help businesses lower costs, to expand and employ. The law does not allow foreign loans for any other purpose than capital investment and human resources. The moratorium is 7 years before payment is due, hence the loan GEJ signed in 2010, repayment started in 2017. The project took 6 years to commercial roll out 2016, so we had 1 year to run it before payment.
Lagos Ibadan SGR loan was signed in 2017, operations started in 2020, so we have 3 years to operate and positively impact lives and business before first payment is due 2023. Thriving businesses means increased employment and more revenue for govt, and better ability to repay.
Without bank financing Lagos Ibadan SGR might have taken 33 years like the critical Itakpe Warri rail to complete. Those riding the rails now would have waited till 2050 because we are afraid of loans or have no ideas how to pay back.
What many of you don't know is that not completing Itakpe-Warri- Ajaokuta rail was a major cause of delay in our steel ambition at Ajaokuta. A plant tying down resources that could create 50,000 direct jobs and another 250,000 indirect jobs. Once this plant starts working a few years from now, you won't understand this background, and might not even know you joined to oppose the strategic steps and decisions that made it possible.

I understand such logical and strategic planning and thinking is very strange to most Nigerians many of whom live for the day and can't connect actions of today with outcomes of tomorrow.

You are mere paid political online urchin who lacks intelligence. So partial commencement of operations while main stations are been finished is not usage? People paying while this test is ongoing is not usage? You mean you prefer the trains to run empty or should be free of charge? I don't know the source of your pains.

If you are sure the train is inflated in cost, can you tell us the actual cost versus the world benchmark cost of standard gauge railway worldwide?
Hint this is a dual guage railway hence, the total length of track is 312 km, not just the 156km distance between Lagos and Ibadan.

Did Ameachi realize that a train running from SEast to Lagos will generate more income and patronage? He won't see that because the FG is sentimental about infrastructure in Nigeria

Connect una train to the north, Kaduna and kano will be okay.

You don't have any point. I have been asked to leave you and your people alone to die in your fools paradise . Never argue with fools people might not know the difference, in this case I openly exposed your falsehood. I can mention names of some people at Alagomeji but I will not do that because this is a public forum.

You claimed you boarded the train at Moniya for about 2K5 for economy. Was that the price before the official price of 2K for regular, 3.5K for business and 5K for VIP? Or they just sell tickets at anyhow price ? Or was there downward review of price or you have forgotten the exact amount so soon? The kind of people we have in government are not intelligent ,that is why we are running nomadic economic theory. It is a pity. No thinking or reasoning at all. It will take centuries for black Africa to be developed. Generations yet unborn will pay out of the debt.

If you are at Moniya as claimed by you, you should be intelligent and coherent because you are closer to IITA, but I guessed if you are not in government, you are with those people selling goats at Akinyele or those people at International Cattle Market, Ondundu. Your cups will soon be filled.

Don't worry, tomorrow is Monday, as early as 5.00am, thousands will gather at Ibadan terminals coming to resume work in Lagos. Fools paradise.

You have given facts and figures, but have received hot air in response. The recurrent expenses for the Railtrack is unknown and the rate of return on the investment,

Maybe after 2 years ,you would hear that we have paid off 20% percent of the loan and mumus who don't understand opportunity cost of capital would celebrate that we diverted funds meant for more viable projects to service an Elephant project

Once again,I salute your patience in responding.

Asking the government to be careful with reckless borrowing and signing of agreements is not falling mugu. BTW, it is called Sovereignty not immunity. As you can see from this video, even the minister did not know what he signed. It was the lawmakers that were informing him on the clause, which he then tried to defend. That is very careless. Why implement something and blame others for the faults in it? Is that not the real madness? Did they point a gun on your head to pursue the loan?
You that is smart and critical, why are we borrowing trillions and billions more? We are in debt of over N32. 9 trillion. Another debt of $22billion has been approved for borrowing. You are too wise and too smart to care.

Rome was not built in a day. There is no need to borrow away our destiny because of infrastructure. Be innovative, strategic, careful and not a spendthrift and overbloated with your borrowing. With all your putting us in trouble, we are not getting the best and no good warranty. The rails are breaking down like rain and we have the guts to say there is nobody or parts to repair or maintain until China comes. Is that not madness? So nobody was trained and equipped for maintenance. Just like Sri Lanka, all the so called borrowed money went to China, construction was done by Chinese government companies and workers. And if we continue with our usual carelessness, the project belongs to China, What $100 billion are you touting, was the railway built for $100billion? Was the rail project completed in a year? Are you thinking at all or just attempting to confuse the gullible? Can you engage in sane conversation without mentioning PDP or APC?

The APC strategy is to identify critical infrastructure that can support our non oil economy, one of which is logistics/transport hence the heavy investment in railway and roads. Monies normally shared via looting was mopped up hence the cry of no money in circulation.

Since you mopped up all the money, why are you borrowing again? So it is better for you to mop up the money and there should be no money in circulation? Is that how normal people do things? You deliberately stop money from being in circulation? Do you realise the far reaching implications of this action you are so proud of?

All these one you are wailing about is story. Be careful with what you are signing and borrowing and pay back. That is how one of you politicians got the whole country into debt of $9.6 billion to a private company in the UK the other time. i'm sure this is how he was also blowing grammar. If he dumps his party for yours now, you will still trumpet it as an achievement tomorrow and call him an honourable. That's if he has not already done so sef, as you are all same.
