Many Nigerians, groups and individuals believe that the country must be restructured to bring about equity and justice to all its regions, with some people even insisting that this is the only way Nigeria can still stay together as a unit.

But fielding questions during an Independence Day luncheon in commemoration of Nigeria’s 61st Independence anniversary, held in Abuja at the weekend, Saraki, who is also a former Governor of Kwara State, advised those in government to ensure there is development in all parts of the country, insisting that people can not be happy staying together in a country where only one part is being developed.

He said in such circumstances, it was impossible to believe that the country would remain as one in indivisible entity.

The former Senate President said that it is the failure of government to deliver the expectations of the masses that has led to the agitations for secession.

“I think that the government not being able to deliver to the people as regards what their values and expectations are, has made us start looking inward to see that there is something wrong structurally… That’s why you hear people talk about maybe we should give more powers to the states; more powers to the regions.

"I think we need to address what is wrong with our country's structure. The major issue has to do with the opportunity for all of us. I call it the democratization of opportunity.

“Today a lot of people do not have a sense of belonging. They do not believe that the opportunities are fair to all. We need to go back to that. We must have an environment that enables all of us to believe that we have a fair chance of getting to where we want to get to and in doing that we have to be sure that some of us do not believe that we are being held back.”

They should wait till 2023 when a Yoruba man becomes the President and the perceived marginalization will be taken to a whole new level. No space for terrorists in our political space. You can't be killing innocent souls over your selfish interests and still expect to be taken seriously.

Yoruba don’t have balls . U can take that to the bank.
Who needs a ball when you can easily be the president while the dimwits with balls keep chanting marginalization, injustice, biafla or lefledum while killing their own people?

I cared less to read about the article because it is normal of PDP fellows to accuse the present tnure of what they couldn't do. You did nothing while you held sway as the Senate president. The only thing your tenure was known for was budget padding but here he goes again. If the PDP had solved this problems when they were in power for sixteen years it wouldn't have been much of a problem to the Buhari's administration. You can't expect the rust and decay of many years to be fixed in just a few years.

Who is he shouting injustice to. His years of stay as a governor in Kwara state witnessed the worst injustice ever. As an embarrassed political orphan, he should just sit somewhere and observe how Buhari is fixing the problems of this country.

The only reason why Saraki is saying this is to raise more antagonism against the tuling APC. This is someone that was a governor for 8 years and senator for 8 years but still didn't make an impact on the masses.
