The senate has reconsidered the electoral act amendment bill and has empowered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to determine the best mode to transmission of election results.

The electoral commission will now have to decide how to transmit election results — either electronically or manually.

The upper legislative chamber also approved that all political parties must use the direct primary mode in picking candidates.

The senate approved four clauses in the electoral act amendment bill.

Unfortunately for Lawan and his Team Rubber Stamp the credit for this singular act which will go a long way in deepening democracy and quality of election outcome will go to the INEC Chairman Mahmood and his team who showed determination in d face of pliable legislative arm by insisting they must transmit results electronically. Simply put electronic transmission of election results means 1+2=3 while analogue compilation means 1+2= 3000, 30000 etc. You now see why d fear for electronic transmission painting it look like it's rocket science. We will now begin to see results that are arithmetic progression based not d usual geometric progression these political actors shun out and it's about time d myth in the North"s population cum election figures about to be busted

This too hot for inec to handle,
That every political party must do direct primaries will make election & campaign very expensive like dollars.

Crooks. After saying that, watch as they will devise another means to reject electronic transmission because most of them can’t win any election fair and square.

THIS ONE NA TO HIDE FACE (INEC GOT FACT AND FIGURES AT THERE DISPOSAL)

INEC already are hell bent on transmitting result electronically, with or without Senate approval.
I already know that INEC will not make a shift.
INEC already carried out Pilot experiment of electronic transmission of counted vote in 2015 election and have found out how the Result have changed on their way to Abuja as compare to the Electronic collation they did at the background.
INEC were so sure that rigging took place, that is why i INEC is saying NO NO NO more...
this is the reason INEC have completely refute the manual collation of Result going forward.

SENATE knew that INEC are not backing out on the move.
foolishly NCC wanted to play the political card by scaring the president, political class and the entire Nigerians that no network coverage to accommodate e Transmission of Result.
INEC stood Firm on the way going forward.
INEC made a bold statement.

Inec is an independent body. Its module of operation should be independent as well and not determined by political parties.
Senate did well on this

Thats fantastic!!! The ball is now in INEC court, they shouldnt have much problem in conducting free and fair elections but the second one is absolutely rubbish you can't force political party to use direct primary to pick their candidate
Re: Senate Empowers INEC To Determine Transmission Of Election Results by AMISCOT(m): 12:59pm On Oct 12, 2021
