LEADERS of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and leading political figures from the North have unveiled a secret plot



to take over the structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2015 general election.

The secret agenda also includes plots to checkmate activities of President Goodluck Jonathan, who was sworn in for a fresh term of four years on Sunday.

Sources at a multiparty meeting held on May 20, in Abuja, at the instance of ACF national chairman, Alhaji Aliko Mohammed, which featured representatives of the Unity Forum (UF), some northern leaders and leaders of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) claimed that the meeting was said to have concluded on the need for the North to take over the PDP ahead of the 2015 elections.

The meeting was said to have resolved to do everything possible to ensure the election of a northern president in 2015, while also checkmating Jonathan.

A source at the meeting said: “The meeting took place in the late hours of May 20 in Maitama District of Abuja. Participants were generally angry about the state of the North, especially the marginalisation of the North in key offices of the land. Participants deliberated on the imperative for consolidation and strategies towards ensuring the emergence of a northern president in 2015.”

Those at the meeting included officials of the ACF, CPC, UF and some key northern leaders, a representative of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, a senator-elect of the CPC, among others.

Other names at the meeting included Gambo Ahmed, a member of UF; Senator Abu Ibrahim; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Gidado Idris; Dr Sule Yahaya Hamma of the CPC; Senator Adamu Aliero, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Alhaji Sani Minista represented Alhaji M.D. Yusufu, former Inspector General of Police, while a participant whose name was given as Alhaji Mahmud, represented Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Others included Alhaji Murtala Usman Aliyu and Alhaji Ahmed Al-ghazali.

It was gathered that the meeting resolved to ensure that President Jonathan is successfully checkmated through the digging up of vital information about the government and his person.

A source further said of the resolutions of the meeting: “The meeting agreed that there is the need for the realisation of northern presidency project in 2015, as well as the question of leadership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It has become imperative that the success of northern desires in 2015 will largely depend eventually on who secures the PDP leadership now.”

One of the leaders was said to have accused the current leaders of the PDP from the North as only working against the interests of the North.

It was also revealed that some persons actually plotted to derail the government of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, when it became obvious that he could not continue as president when he returned from the medical trip to Saudi Arabia early in 2010.

One of the participants was said to have told the meeting that but for certain meetings that did not hold and the lack of coordination among ministers of the then government, as well as the former First Lady, Hajia Turai Yar’Adua, a change of government would have been effected to preserve the status quo and prevent a Jonathan presidency.

They shall surely gather but their gathering will everly yield nothing

While one cannot be sure how true this news is ,we can all agree that the northern leaders do not want their people to be educated.All these years that they have been in power ,they did not make any strong move to get their people educated so do not expect them to start now.They want their folks to remain ignorant so that they can use them to cause mayhem.

The way Nigeria is going ,i think GEJ should allow civilians especially in the south to own licensed firearms.The south is at a disadvantage because the northerners have the highest population in the military.Allowing Nigerians especially southerners to own licensed firearms may just be a way to deter any funny moves the northern cabals maybe planning.Of course allowing the populace to own firearms also has its disadvantages.

Not only that the write-up didn't make any sense at all but lack cohorent reasoning and bears no mark to the its bold title. What sort of Journalist do you have in Nigeria today, their intelligent is very questionable?

They told us that CPC is Buhari and Buhari is CPC and I can just imagine Buhari sitting down not only discussing common interest in politics with the likes of Atiku but plotting something with PDP of all group.

There is something totally wrong about the southern dominated media in Nigeria. For example they help millions of Nigerians to lost the true meaning or the real impact of the after election riot in the north because of their uneducated mindset, ethnic bias senntiments. The riot after the election shows us that tha poor masses of the north are begining to wise up and now revolting against those that had held them down for years. By going after those they once treated as gods like the Sultan of Sokoto, Emirs of and Zauzau and many others, things will no longer be the same.

But the southern media turned it into from a tribal war from one week into a religious war in another week and the real significance of what happened was lost and maybe forever, courtesy of half baked writer like this.

To be honest, this news could be true. We were in this country before the elections and we knew how the North fought to make sure GEJ did not take over power even when it was clear the president could not continue.

We knew how the AGF said the president can rule from anywhere disregarding the fact that no one was allowed to se him.

We knew what happened when the NASS and FEC tried to no avail to see the then President.

We knew all these, how GEJ was frustrated from becoming the President rather, the PA of the then president and his cronies were running this country in the capacity of president.

Even when the then President was flown to this country, no one was allowed to see him.

When GEJ finally took over power and wanted to contest, we knew the hatred and plots to frustrate him. We knew how many times IBB called for his resignation for insecurity in the nation. These agitations to frustrate GEJ metamorphosed into the incessant bomb blasts in several areas in the north.

Recall that someone prominent in the north sworn openly that the north will never allow GEJ to rule. Forget what happened during the election as it has been given several meanings.

Whereas the journalist did some blunder on the article but the truth remains that the core north are plotting either the failure of the government of the day by planting bombs to create instability or some relevance to be given the presidency cheaply in 2011.

In Nigeria, the president is nearly all-powerful. All these propaganda stories of faceless groups 'checkmating' the president should not be used as an excuse for non performance.

As it stands, the North is still by far the dominant group in the PDP so which 'control' are these people angling for?

GEJ will likely hand over to a northern president in 2015 anyway.

Nigerian Government has banned medical doctors working in public hospitals from private practice.

The decision was taken at the Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Government added that henceforth the doctrine of no work no pay which was contained in the nation’s law would be invoked for workers embarking on strike.
