However, I still believe the odds of Tinubu becoming Nigeria's next President are not in his favor.

- The office of the President of Nigeria is one that is alternated between a Christian and a Muslim. The current President is a Muslim. He took over from a Christian. For an ethno-religious country like ours, and to strike a balance, it will be safe for us to have a christian as Buhari's successor.

- Although constitutionally, Tinubu has the right to contest for President. If he does, is he going to choose another Muslim from the north as his running mate? Thereby having a Muslim/Muslim ticket, which may be inimical to our ethno-religious coexistence as a nation. Which other powerful, popular and well-acceptable northern Christian can he then settle for that can guarantee him victory in 2023? Your guess is as good as mine.

- The issue of corruption: I say this without mincing words that Tinubu is the face of corrupt politician in Nigeria. Most people that hold this kinds of opinions apparently have good ideas of how Nigeria should be. However wishful thinking are different from realities.


Tinubu, like all other citizens have the right to aspire to be president and they are actively exercising this right BECAUSE THEY ARE ACTIVE IN THE POLITICS OF THEIR COUNTRIES.

Idealists and arm-chairs critics are often not members of any political parties, they don't attend meetings and/or rallies of these parties let alone Congress or primaries of any political parties but somehow still believe that they can dictate for those actively participate in party politics on who they should chose as their parties' flag bearers.
