Fuel subsidy is what I have supported for years. But this is the only thing Nigerians benefit from the crooked past and present government that have been ruling us ,taking it away won't translate to a better life for citizens

Petroleum subsidy is a fraud and human economic right abuse perpetuated by the privileged city/town dwelling Nigerians against Nigerians living in the villages without roads and electricity.
Those set of Nigerians being robbed by their fellow Nigerians should institute a class action to demand that subsidies be scrapped and/or they are given equivalents of the subsidies on electricity and petrol. It's fraudulent that you are enjoying subsidies on electricity and petrol when most of your other compatriots without roads and electricity are picking the bill without equivalent subsidies.

Removing the subsidy is not the problem as considering the timing, the consequences and the benefit it'll accrue to Nigerians. Before we compare subsidy removal for Petrol with Diesel and Kerosene, we need to evaluate the usage of these other product. Until then we can't compare the compound effect of the removal.

Also, there's need for a conversation and accountability for previous subsidy removal. What was the money realized from subsidy removal on Diesel and Kerosene used for?

They have forgotten that their borders are porous and the guy is not talking about making investments.

Somebody share us that El Rufai's picture in 2012 protesting fuel subsidy removal during GEJ's tenure.
Then the price would have been a paltry #145 but here we are today at #161 or so and they're talking fuel subsidy removal.

Everytime they want to make life difficult for Nigerian they come up with this fake stories ...last time Buhari removed subsidy he gave the same reason and only for us to find out he started paying more and even called it under recovery

His reasons translated: We cannot efficiently control ordinary smuggling of petroleum to neighbouring countries but to stop the smuggling we can increase the price (remove subsidy) for Nigerians and citizens of other countries, with that smuggling is controlled.

Subsidy money enters the hand of few Nigerians, as if they remove the subsidy the money will not still be in the hands on other set of few Nigerians. He is now for subsidy removal, a stand he was vehemently against few years back, because he feels he is in power now and will be among the new set of the few the money will come to.
