Nigeria has ever been the Cash cow to most of these neighbouring countries.
Always taking advantage of our land boarder porosity.
So because of gov inefficiency and failure to guard our boarders we should bear the cost via paying for the failures?
So the government cannot protect the boarders from smugglers of petrol? They why are we paying customs offiers?
This is rather an inditement!

Hell Rufire please can you mention any Nigerian Refinery that is working? If not for corruption, why will Nigerian Oil be in the hands of Cameroon without them buying it?

Please how do they get this petrol that has made them shut down their refineries?

What volume do they get from Nigeria that is sufficient to run their economy?

It will be interesting to know where the mallam got his information.

Available information shows that the SONARA refinery shutdown in June 2019 due to a fire incident and it seems they havent reactivated it just yet but have plans to do so, and also build a new refinery as well.

It would be astonsihing for a country to shut down its refinery because of reliance on smuggled fuel from Nigeria.

You referred to him as Mallam. That should tell you the state of his brain (if he is in possession of one in the first place).

You can remove subsidy but you can't reduce salaries and allowances of politicians. And you guys are not telling us what you would do with the money gotten from subsidy men these guys are daft. If nlc don't strike then I know they are baised.

This man called El-Rufia is either a liar or misinformed. The Cameroon Refinery never shutdown because of the Nigerian fuels.
Please OP take this information to him to verify.
On 31st May 2019, around 7pm to 8pm, a fire outbreak was reported by various news channels and social media that major refinery units were on fire.
Since this incident, every process has been grounded and the government of Cameroon has started negotiating with various shareholders on how to carry out the rehabilitation process.

But it was the same El-Rufai that protested for almost a week in Abuja when GEJ removed subsidy some years back.

Does it mean Malam has changed his view on subsidy or he did that to discredit Jonathan's government ?
I wonder oo

For once , the dwarf demon is right...

Here is an article from the Guardian in 2018 in essence confirming what he said

Of course I know the dwarf is right and yes the its even a bigger problem than what is known publicly and yes it need to be solved urgently. He is wrong because prior to this time, he being in a better position to know the truth which I believe he knew, deceived and misled Nigerians into believing that the previous administration was wrong about subsidy removal. He mobilised people and joined protest, blackmailed the government into halting that move only for him to be giving lectures about the importance of subsidy removal today. He is a major part of the problem. Then our economy was in a better shape, we would have by endured the pressure and be done with it, but they postponed the suffering to the worst time ever. It will never be well with them.

And from the Punch

He, El Rufai , is even understating the level of the problem by a wide margin.

Below is a map showing the extent of the problem.

Removing subsidy is not my problem. My problem is using the funds to give to the poorest Nigerians as transport allowance monthly.

That's a bigger fraud

What is the duty of custom,

Re: El-rufai: Cameroon Shut Down Its Refinery Because Of Cheap Fuel From Nigeria by sulaak(m): 6:41am On Nov 26, 2021
Nigerian politician are not clever

The problems:
’The disclosures by the NNPC GMD and the Minister of Finance were in symphony with the positions of the World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri and the International Monetary Fund urging the Federal Government to do away with fuel subsidy

The failures
‘’It is difficult to convince Nigerian workers why our dear country is the only country among the OPEC member countries that cannot produce its own refined petroleum products and thus adopts the neo-liberal import production model of refined petroleum products.

The consequences
The truth is that these commodities which Nigeria can easily produce have been priced out of the reach of most Nigerian families with majority of our people resorting to tree felling and charcoal for their energy needs.
