Later Yorubas came to claim GEJ marginalised them.Imagine a whole region giving up the number 4 position to massage the ego of a kleptomaniac godfather
This was the lie Tinubu and other Yoruba leaders used in brainwashing their people into voting this grossly incompetent man, sadly even the educated ones we thought would be wiser and able to see through the lies were deceived. Those who told Nigerians the truth about Buhari, were attacked and mocked for insisting never to vote Buhari all deserve our respect, they showed themselves to be smarter than the rest of the pack. I mean the Easterners, South South and Ekiti people.

That's if you believe that Dasuki was actually jailed..
But what do you know?
Few days ago, you were told by Bode Gorge that the former PDP Chairman under Jonathan, who was also a former governor of Bauchi state, Muazu, ran away from the country few days to the elections! That's the party chairman, running away from an election he was leading! You think that was a coincidence? Naive you..

That's if he was actually jailed? How many times did you visit him?
You think being in prison is all about being beaten and all that?

ACN had 6 Governors + Edo state, including 18 Senators and about 50 house of rep. members.

So, Jonathan cannot ask them to pick a member from ACN members to represent the SW?

Supporting a PDP member means empowering PDP against ACN in SW politics. Do you think ACN is like a mushroom party like APGA or YPP who would vote for any other party because they have nothing to lose.

which should come first? Interest of your people or the Interest of the party?

Little wonder why Tinubu has kept quite and at best defended the Fulanis while they butcher his people. He doesn't care about them anyway. His sole interest is his party

1. ACN was under no obligation to help PDP. it's your party, it's your govt, it's your candidate, it's your speakership.
2. In politics, If you are asking me to do something for you there must be something in it for me, ACN clearly felt there was no benefit for them in supporting an unknown lightweight PDP candidate, simply because he/she was from the SW.
3. Asking for speakership position is simply a negotiating tactics. it's the kind of negotiating tactics when you have the upper hand i.e you have nothing to lose and someone wants something badly.
4. They chose to play the long game and support Tambuwal. This turned out to be to their benefit because Tambuwal later repaid the favour by later defecting and bringing down GEJ's govt and bringing APC to power.

Lesson is their politics was well played: you dont give out support if there is no upside for you. the support for Tambuwal proved to be more beneficial in the long run for the ACN and the SW than supporting an unknown SW candidate in a PDP govt.

Thats how you play politics.
Definitely you are an slowpoke. What has the majority of Yoruba benefited from Buhari's Govt if I may ask you? Will a Northerner abandon his own people for any Southerner ? Your guest is as good as mine. Now they shall be expecting the unknown Mulikat & her people to equally support them come 2023 abi?

And so? What does having 6 governors have to do with the leadership of the house of rep? What does having 18 senators have to do with the house of rep? And how can a party of 50 members out of over 350+ produce the house leadership, in a country where democracy is practiced? Are you and Akande even thinking sef? Inshort they should have slapped Akande for even mentioning this in his book. There are different ways to dine with the devil. If they didn't trust GEJ or any of PDP options, they could have requested from someone they trust in PDP who is in the house or from the south west. They could have even lobbied for one of their ACN members who has a good relationship with PDP guys to deflect to PDP and look after their own interest from there. But no, they wanted power, they wanted to give a name to GEJ from ACN when they were minority. No matter how you look at it, they chose to power over the SW people. That doesn't matter now because it played out well for them, they have the VP today and are pushing for presidency. So in the long term, it paid the SW better.

You can imagine. Jonathan did not ask ACN leaders to choose the speaker from any 50 ACN members in the house, rather, he asked them to choose from PDP, so that PDP would use their powerful offices and positions to work against ACN in SW ahead of elections in 2015. you are a cretin. your problem is you are too consumed by tribalism to understand that tribalism is only a means to an end and clearly you have fallen for it. I will turn your question back on you, what has SE benefitted from 16 years of PDP?

This is politics not tribe. they play the tribal and religious card to the 1mbeciles, retards, and dimwits you fall for it......to them it's all about politics. They know but you people clearly are not intelligent enough to understand politics, that why you region has never produced a president.

Nigerian politics is not about progress, nobody can deliver progress to anybody under this constitution. Nigerian politics is about winning, power and sharing money amongst a few winners and playing the tribal/religious card to the millions of m0rons like you to get them in power. Unfortunately dim-wits like you are taking this tribalism more seriously than the people playing the tribe card for your vote. When they are sharing money they dont know tribe. You will be shocked how many yorubas/hausas collect contracts in SE and same all over Nigeria based on party politics not tribe.

Nigerians idea of politics is so backward and wayward.

Look at people on this thread thinking they did a thing because now "a Yoruba man is Vice President and Speaker and may possibly be President"

I have never seen people so obtuse and wilfully ignorant that they celebrate figureheads in power, people without actual power that are no better than those they think they got a one-up over.

Nigeria is still a hellhole, the whole country is suffering, the living standards are impossibly high, and I am sure most of the people gloating on this thread cannot afford a one-way ticket to any country of note, but "...a Yoruba man is in power...."

How has that helped the average Yoruba man in Ogun State? How has it stopped SARS and EFCC from constantly bullying southern youths and killing them, particularly in South West? How has it helped Tajudeen in Ogbomosho?

Any politics that cannot positively affect the lives of the lowest of your own, is useless politics.

But once again, Nigerians play silly politics while thinking themselves smart.

Critic as much as you wish and explain what you'd have done in that situation? Ngige was not voted to the Senate probably because you don't want APC to develop a power center in a PDP zone. That's politics. Any wailing on the loss of the Senate presidency by SE can only be seen from the angle of politics not pity. Only the uninitiated and simple minded will be deceived by the noise of marginalisation. Only time will tell if the strategy yields results.

You see this Mulika decision has yielded ACN very fat returns and is still proving to be the right call. PDP and it's supporters can't be happy with it.
You betray your own and come out here to type rubbish. Such a BIG DISGRACE. Even if she became Speaker, that may not have stopped PDP from loosing the election but would definitely bring some positive influence in the South-West within that period. In 16 years of PDP, the average Igbo man enjoyed a boost in his business.

It is business that an Igbo man cares for, his own individuality. The Foreign Exchange was good, fuel was affordable, feeding was affordable, but mostly, business was thriving because the foreign exchange was good.

An Igbo man's number one thought in politics is the Economy, not just foolish regional politics.

Since all the Yoruba men are now in power, how has it helped the Nigerian economy? The railway that is in the South West, how has it fed the average Yoruba man? Has it stopped you from buying food at an alarming price? Has it reduced the foreign exchange rate?

If anybody is soaked in regional politics and tribalism, it is actually the Yoruba man, and you don't even play it in a way that can properly benefit you or the rest of the country. You play it rather childishly.

The clear reasoning of an kid adult!

Was Akinwunmi Adeshina not one of Gejs ministers! Was he not outstanding! Is he not the same Akinyemi president of ADB today?

Your tinubu/Akande/gbajabiamila whatever that means brought about political rascality to the national assembly and that what Saraki also did, remember he was an APC senator when he became senate president! When he couldn't take the attacks anymore from APC,he decamped to PDP.
The heads of the nass are not for the president to give, they are zoned in a multi ethnic country like ours to cater for every regions as possibly can but you yoruba people from Mars and your rascal APC ruined everything. Gej tried his best to maintain that balance and I'm very sure if he didn't do anything, you same yorubas would've attacked him more.

AND ONE MORE CLEAR TRUTH,GEJ NEVER WORKED FOR THE SO CALLED MANIPULATIVE EXTINCTION OD THE ACN. DURING OBJS SECOND TENURE, THE THEN AD LOST ALL ITS STATES RO THE PDP EXCEPT LAGOS STATE.
SAME THING HAPPENED 2011 UNDER GEJ.
BUT UNDER SAME GEJ,THE AD WHICH HAD METAMORPHOSED INTO THE ACN WON BACK THOSE SW STATES PDP WON THROUGH THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES ELECTION TRIBUNALS!!!!!! THE TRIBUNAL HANDED BACK ALL THE STATES TO ACN!!!
NOBODY WENT TO THE SUPREME COURT TO CHALLENGE!!

THAT WAS PART OF THE REASON OBJ BECAME ANGRY WITH STARTED ATTACKING GEJ.

SO BABA AKANDE,AN OLD MAN AT THAT WAS VERY ECONOMICAL WITH THE TRUTH AGAINST THE INNOCENT GEJ. POSTERITY AND THE LAND WILL FOREVER BE KIND TO GEJ AND JUDGE YOU YORUBAS.

Was Adesina a member of PDP?

So of all the PDP members that worked for his reelection in 2011 he could not accommodate them ? Instead he pursued a vendetta against the PDP in the SW thereby handing the zone over to Tinubu

Tinubu was not so great a strategist. He benefitted from the political incompetence of Jonathan
When Jonathan took over from Yar'adua PDP controlled Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun . By the 2011 election he squandered that lead and by 2015 he had completely dismantled PDP in the SW

This post is great but incomplete. You should have added that the ACN was playing the long game. Besides preventing the 'Greek gift' speakership that would have potentially buried the party, they were also playing the long game which paid-off because they went on to midwife a coalition that birthed the APC, which saw two yoruba men emerge as number two (VP) and number 4 (Speaker) for the first time in the country's political history.
